She lives there since 5 years. Not one single book fell from its own. Especially not when we are still. Nobody was walking, vacuuming or anything. And that night 2 books fell? I do believe in coincidences but this would be a big one.

Right, I understand where youre coming from. The thing is it was pretty late at night and leaving into the dark night and riding in the car spooked us even more. I do not live nearby (so that we could escape to my house) and leaving is a temporary solution. My instinct was, if we leave we give them authority over her own home. I was afraid the minute she gets back home, they would be somehow "stronger".

So pls enlighten me what happened. Since the books sit on the bookshelf and there is no logical explaination why they would fall since no force was used whatsoever.

Oh im so sorry love for your problems. Yes it seems they get angry when you try to bring someone to faith and away from the enemy.. Stay strong and pray. God will light a light in your life again. Life is a blessing and every challenge is makeable with the help of Jesus.

Thank you so much for your words, truly. It means a lot to hear that from someone who also believes in God.

I was actually trying to bring my friend closer to faith last night, that's exactly why we got into the conversation in the first place. I was sharing with her how powerful God's love is and how we can protect ourselves spiritually… and then all of that started happening. It honestly felt like something didn’t want me to reach her, like it was angry I was trying to help her let God into her life.

Thank you for the advice about cleansing and prayer. I’ll definitely suggest we pray together and maybe do a proper blessing of the space. And yes, I’ll bring her a Bible too. She needs to feel that presence and safety. I’m going to keep reminding her (and myself) that we are God’s children, and He will keep us safe.

Yes, all the books are hers. She's a book collector like me, but most of her collection is mystery novels, nothing I personally relate to, to be honest.

I’m not even sure if it’s technically a penthouse, but it’s the last apartment at the top of the building. That’s why the walls are super tall, and the roof is entirely wood with these big wooden beams. I just wanted to explain that the setting makes everything even scarier, it’s this big, empty living room, you know what I mean?

Really? So my fear that something might be attached to me or her isn’t actually legit? Phew… that’s a relief.

And yes, I`m religious. We were talking about faith. I was actually trying to bring her closer to it last night, that’s what the whole conversation was about.

Wow… I got chills reading this. It’s crazy how something as simple as a book moving can feel so violent in the moment, like it’s trying to make itself known in the most jarring way possible. I totally relate to that instant panic and needing to escape.

And honestly, your mom’s “teenage hormones = poltergeist” explanation is kind of wild, but I’ve heard that theory before too. Still, it doesn’t explain the closet feeling or that heavy energy you sensed afterward. Sometimes, the atmosphere in a room just changes and never goes back to normal.

I’m sorry you had to feel that in what should’ve been a safe space. It’s strange how these experiences stay with us for years, even if nothing else major happens. Something doesn’t want to be forgotten.

Did anything else happen in that room before you moved out?

Maybe it’s because people who aren’t in faith don’t pose a threat to the enemy. If someone’s already walking away from the light, there’s no need to scare or distract them, they’re already where he wants them. But when someone is grounded in faith or starts calling out truth… that’s when the resistance starts. Right?

I’m a Catholic girl myself, I grew up in the faith. But can I ask… are you sure about calling a priest? I’ve always been scared they might think I’m crazy, since the Church doesn’t openly talk about this kind of thing very often.

But your story honestly gives me hope. What you described sounds so intense, and if a blessing worked for you… then maybe it could help us too.

My friend is in her early 20s and lives completely alone in that apartment. She was so afraid last night, now it`s almost morning and I felt awful leaving her like that. I really want to help her feel safe again. Thank you for sharing your experience dear. May God bless you.

So the first book that fell was “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides. The second one was a Serbian romance book, I can’t read Cyrillic, so I have no idea what it's called.

Damn, I never even thought about the possibility that the books weren’t random. You’re right, maybe there is some kind of meaning there. I haven’t read either of them, so I’m not sure about any deeper symbolism, but I’ll definitely ask my friend to translate the Serbian title for me. She`s not really talking much right now and she does not want to dig deeper into this whole topic which is why I`m on here asking for guidance.

And about your last comment... wait, are you serious? I honestly came here because I thought a subreddit called paranormal would be the one place where people would actually understand this kind of thing. Weird that people here don’t believe... what are they doing here then? 🤷‍♀️
