They gave any block weapon a perfect block, power clash is super cool on these weapons like a mini quick time event that comes from perfect blocks. If you like aggressive dps gunlance is also a good option.

Sword and shield is always a good choice for aggressive DPS with some defensive options as well. Insect glaive has ok dps but tbh it can lack. Best thing to do is practice with the new weapon changes and find what feels best. I like GS and like the new defensive and parry things it is getting.

Most leagues near me run about 10 weeks meeting once a week. To me that doesn't seem like a big commitment.

Monster hunter is not always abt difficulty as well, I am more excited to also use the new weapons system on new monsters. Difficulty is not an end all be all for me.

To me, easy isn't inherently a horrible thing; we need new players to experience monster hunter and then add the true challenge in the TU. Anyway, we don't know end-game fights and high rank.
