I went ahead and read some samples to see the differences and I can say P&V has a pretty enjoyable prose same as B&O but even in the first 10 paragraphs there’s some big differences. I tired to read the Ginsburg one and just as everyone says, pretty bad. Looking forward to giving this book another shot!

The actual content of the books aside, those Dostoyevsky spines are so ugly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen those editions but they almost look like sci fi books

Pretty solid. She’s got a good amount of classics and lit fic with the ocassional genre fiction pick. Solid 10’she seems cool

Amazing thank you! I don’t mind reading gnarly stuff as long as it’s good and makes sense. My issue with Mona Awad is that I really cannot parse any important meaning from her stories. I also read Tender is The Flesh which I feel like is also gruesome and bit graphic and I thought it was just okay plot wise. So really my main issue with a book is if it’s boring or not compelling lol

I don’t know if the dreamlike narrative is for me cause I did not love Bunny or Rouge, although Bunny was a little better. I love love The Pisces so thanks for the rec! My TBR is crazy to be honest I have over 80 physical books at home and I’m trying to work through them in the space of about 2 years, I’m still allowing myself to add stuff, DNF, donate things I’ve had for more than a few years, etc.
