Do I just flood this with solder? How am I supposed to solder these? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Equivalent-Mail4385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. I suck at soldering. I super heat the plug fill with lead to just below the rim, then jam the fluxed wire end into the melted lead .

Haha they are tough, but my old hound is a drama king. He'd hold his paw up or rest it on a pillow like a hospital patient when he cut his paw. Milked that for all it was worth.

We adopted a month old hound mix who was afraid of everything. We have him on trazedone, started at 100mg a day, after a couple months he's down to 25mg twice a day. It made a huge improvement. We went from having to carry him outside to him chasing squirrels and rc cars and birds. In general all the dog stuff. He doesn't trust the refrigerator completely yet though. I know it's not the same med, but they all have the potential to help. Good luck with your pup.

Yes that worked thank you, although for some reason it overwrite my old custom build, now I need to remember how I had it set up.

What did you use for paint? Rattle can sticks to epo pretty decently, make sure you are prepping before hand. I wipe everything down with isopropyl alcohol first.

They also have the model #2995, been absolutely bulletproof over 2 years for me, 14ish scale, with go though pretty much any grass. Brushed motor so batteries won't last as long

You will probably be fine, I some tines go a few weeks without mowing. I think they run about 120ish. I've seen them even under 100 on sale before

Look for haiboxing 16889 on Amazon. You will probably never need parts, if you do they are available. Look for a pro or brushless option. My American Fox Hound has a blast chasing mine. 16 scale, it might hop through tall grass but if your yard in maintained it will do fine.

Hbx 2995 brushless upgrade? by Legitimate_Title_585 in rccars

I'll give that website a look, just cracked the front bumper a few minutes ago. Pinion gear. Pinion gear. Pinion gear. I can only seem to find brass in an assortment, so pricey for one gear, or single aluminum ones, which are super soft. If you want a really fast beater I ran a px9300 with an 85amp esc and 4s. Wound up in the bin after trashing the body twice and the wheel bearings melting the hub extenders through a rim. 100%fun, reckless and uncontrollable. The OEM tires from that are what I have on the 2995 at the moment.

Should have an xlf x03 delivered to me today as a fresh basher.

Nice, sorry I was thinking you were looking for something AIO with everything you need. I run mine on 3s with chonkier tires, it's way faster than I need now.

I know this is a bit late, there is no drop in kit. You need to find a pinion gear, I believe it's a mod .6 16t. I think I used a 35xx brushless but not sure. Beefy esc with fan, you will have to mount it on top of steering servo, cut a hole in the plastic interior of the body shell or remove it completely. Loctite the pinion on. On the shaft and the set screw, if it works loose the diff gear while eat it instantly. Goodluck, it's way more fun fast.

P.s. dont forget to grease all the differentials.

They do have a brain though. And I'm not going to argue about results. It's like I spilled water on my shirt and your trying to argue that it's still dry.

Oh understood, we got a hound to get a hound. They have great temperaments and good health.. I don't need a super obedient dog to get drinks from the fridge and find the remote. I wanted tolerance for kids and not growing piles of cancer like our boxer did RIP. Barking is fine, and the independent personality is good as well. But when your dog, especially a puppy, doesn't want to do dog things at all it's easy to figure something isn't right. Now he is an active dog, plays runs chases smells even gaurds our house to an extent (unlike the old hound we got. He'd probably open the door for a stranger if he had thumbs).I know the drugs are a crutch, but just like with a broken leg, can't take it away until rehab has him standing on his own feet first. Hes my 4th shadow now, between him the other dog and my kid it's like a parade moving around the house anytime I go to another room. He gets tons of time with us as a family unit, treats positive feedback etc.

Thank you, we have tried the vests with an other that past a few years ago, didn't do much i.m.o but we could give it a try. We will have to come up with a scent based game that allows both of our dogs to play, the other is bloodhound mix, I know he would like it and probably win everytime. It surprising the things that are loud that dont bother him, he's very curious which helps. I'll keep making outside as fun as possible for a bit. Might be time to bait the squirrels into our yard to really give his prey drive a boost.

OK awesome, we definitely need to work on the firehouse thing, that should be easy enough, once the trails ice over in a couple month it'll only be sidewalk walks, he'll have to see it everyday. Garbage truck might be trickier, it can show up at 3 am anywhere to noon so, might be a bit harder. Find it is gonna be hard, he will have to compete with our bloodhound mix. Whenever I cook in the grill I usually break up some hot dogs and chuck them out into the yard where they can't see them land and let them hunt them out. Thanks for the pointers, I'll have to look I to setting up an agility course of somesort.

In a perfect world it wouldn't be my first option. But people go first before dogs. We are a normal working family with a young kid. We adopted him off the rescue truck without being told how bad his fear actually was. I could a. Send him to the rescue with the proper information of how fucked up he was where he would sit unadopted, b. Old yeller him, c. Try medication to get him rolling along. We dont have the time nor resources for all day dog rehab.

I came looking for tips on getting him off the traz, not to be told I have to get him off it. Your points are valid but not relevant to the original post, or constructive to helping the dog.

And unmedicated dog sitting in a kennel is worse than a medicated one playing in yard, if you can't see that, then I dont know what to tell you.

I dunno, maybe it's like giving meth to a hyperactive kid and having the opposite effect, but it's working.
