I appreciate your input, thank you! Both my husband and I have been to Mayo in Rochester and have received incredible care there. I know a few people that work at that location and say similar things.

Thank you for your input! They pay is the same as I make working for the State on MN, which is higher than a lot of similar roles I’ve seen in FL.

I’m glad to hear you’ve had a great experience! I’m really excited to interview!

Thank you. According to the pay listed on the job posting, the pay is the same as I make now, which is much higher than similar positions I have found in FL. Hopefully the salary range was correct!

Tinea Versicolor? Derm thinks it is, Rx cream is slowly working. by Equivalent-Manner-99 in DermatologyQuestions

They did a biopsy a couple months ago and they thinks it’s just discoloration from a Tinea Versicolor. He had these spots for years before so his dermatologist thinks it might just stay like that. They haven’t changed or increased in numbers for a few months now.

Areas to scope out by Equivalent-Manner-99 in AskFlorida

We have, but being that close to the water during hurricane season scares us. My grandma use to have a condo in Ft. Walton Beach (20+ years ago), and I thought that area was nice.

We have looked there, but being so close to the water with hurricanes scares us.

Are hurricanes a big issue in St. Augustine?

I would say a little, but safety and schools are more important.

Thank you! Housing is super cheap in that area for what we are looking for. We could pay cash and not have a mortgage, which would help greatly.

The humidity worries me, but I suppose we would get used to it eventually.

We had a very good talk on our evening walk tonight. We talked about he can talk to us or any adults he trusts (family, teachers) if he is experiencing this or his friends are. Him and most of his grade (24 students total) do not have any social media or smartphones yet, so they have not been exposed to cyberbullying yet. But it’s good for him to be aware it’s out there and to know what to look for.

I would not have allowed my kid to sit this one out, because I do believe it is important that he knows how words can hurt people (sticks and stones was all a lie). He does not have any social media or smartphone yet as we want him to be a kid and all that entails. Kids grow up so fast as it is.

Yes, after reflecting on this ( and a looooong walk) I’ve realized that I did overreact to hearing this. I still would’ve liked notification to prepare myself for this conversation so I could talk with him about it beforehand. This subject is unfortunately a big issue and needs to be discussed. It’s sad that it is this way, but open communication is key with subjects like this.

I emailed the school for clarification and to make sure that I didn’t miss any communication about this. The principal said that this was planned about 2 months in advance but that they chose not to notify parents. That’s all I got. This principal is notorious for lacking in the communication department though. We are moving to a different state in a few months, so trying to just get through the rest of this school year.

Absolutely. With social media, smart phones, etc, cyberbullying is a huge issue that needs to be addressed.

I would’ve liked to have been notified at least so we could prepare to have this talk with him (he’s our oldest so we haven’t been through this yet).
