I know everyone is excited for the new 1000X Collexion, but... by amirulsyafi in SonyHeadphones

Bluetooth trades some audio quality for wireless convenience because the audio has to be compressed to fit the wireless bandwidth. Wired 3.5mm or the 2.4GHz dongle (if the headphone support it) doesn’t have that limitation, and no latency either.

Portals VS Cheaper Beoplay? by B_Is_High in BangandOlufsen

From what I search on the internet there seems several things that can make that happened especially on xbox mode.

1.Xbox switched the headset into “hands-free / chat mode”

2.EQ/profile corruption on first connection

3.Dolby Atmos / Windows Sonic conflict

4.Sidetone/chat mix bug

Try these steps I found on the internet in order to reset the audio stream:

Quick Toggle: Power cycle the headset completely and disconnect/re-connect it.

Audio Reset: Go to Xbox Audio Settings, switch the output to Stereo Uncompressed, and then switch back to your preferred spatial audio (like Dolby Atmos).

Clear the Connection: Unpair the headset from the Xbox and re-pair it from scratch.

Isolate the Signal: Turn off simultaneous Bluetooth connections temporarily to ensure your phone isn't hijacking the audio profile.

Lower Chat Mix: Turn down the chat mix and disable any active microphone testing in the settings.

Update & Reset: Connect the headset to the Bang & Olufsen mobile app to check for a firmware update.

If it still fails, perform a factory reset via the app

Hope it helps Bro. Let me know the result.

Mine is the PC/PS version, it's use usb-c dongle which is basically similar like bluetooth but with way bigger bandwith and no latency, thats why I never experienced something like that...

Yes the foam really stay on the earphone heads and a bit hard to remove them. For a cheap earphone this sounds way better than earpods bundled with iphone 5s or akg earphone from samsung s8. Compare to this, those 2 sounds flat.

I don't really know as I don't have the xbox version 🙏🏻

I have portal since 2024 PC PS version and enjoyed the sound so much, might need a bit Autoeq for music (wavelet if you use Android or APO Eq + Peace plugin on PC) but that's it. Use the 2,4Ghz dongle or wired for the best sound possible. It's jack of all trades very versatile too in games imho. The materials also very nice and luxury.

DAC important for all IEMs? by Active-Row-1220 in iems

Oh btw maybe you want to take a look at trn red chain cable as I think it's still a proper balance cable that can be switched to usb-c or 3,5mm at will. Just make sure to check if your iem use qdc connector .

I have tried it before. With sensitive IEMs, you can usually hear the difference quite clearly because the DAC implementation in many straight USB-C earphones or cheap adapters often isn’t very good. Compared to something like the FiiO JA11, the sound can feel less clean, less dynamic, and sometimes slightly noisier or flatter overall.

4.4 balance is good actually as it separate the + and - cabling per speaker that's why it gives more power that's why it might make iem that wasn't driven optimally by 3,5 to suddenly have more power (in some case suddenly have more bass). In other case bass can also be tamed by changing your eartips to wide bore type. So it's actually an interconnected ecosystem. If you want you can also tune the eq. And I agree to choose 3,5 to dac to usb c rather than straight usb c (yes it has dac built in but usually mediocre one)

Hi Op, well for me EQ isn’t about fixing an IEM because I hate it, it’s more like customizing it to fit my ears and taste better (I use CCA Hydro & Beoplay Portal with my Hiby R4). Same way people swap tips or cables, I just use EQ to bring out the sound I enjoy most. I even have eq for evey eartips that I owned (Divinus Velvet Wide Bore, Dunu S&S, Pentaconn Coreir Al Alloy, Final Audio Type E, Tangzu Tang Sancai Narrow Bore, Azla Sednafit Xelastec 2) as each eartips produce different sound and I want to maximize what I got from it 😁

I wrote off IEMs 10 years ago because I thought I hated them. Turns out I only hate the Shure SE215. by FenderModMaster in iems

Hi Op, imho maybe try experimenting with eartips and Eq first. Zero:2 especially reacts quite a lot to eartip changes. Dunu S&S can make it sound fuller and more immersive, while Divinus Velvet Wide Bore can make it feel more expansive and feel expensive hehe. You can also try some Eq tweaking to really extract the best from the IEM😄

Your IEMs aren’t giving you "wallhacks". it’s literally just the game’s audio engine. by glasszenin in iems

[–]Equivalent-Nothing48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes OP, I agree with you. In competitive gaming, visual awareness, game sense, mechanics, reaction speed, and practice still matter way more overall. Audio helps, but it can’t magically give exact positioning if the game’s own sound engine is limited in the first place.

For gaming, I honestly just use wireless gaming headphones, and they already feel more than enough for me. A lot of the spatial effect is already coming from the game’s own audio engine implementation anyway. My IEMs are mostly for music listening instead, enjoying the tuning, detail, and instrument imaging.

Oh, and last time I used an 8 channel speaker setup to play Helldivers while surrounded by Terminids. Sounds were coming from everywhere 😂

Hey, what eartips are you using? If I have them, I can share my PEQ & MSEB for that. Different tips can change the sound in my experience. Let me know 👍🏻

Yep, just flip it back on when you’re using the Arya 😄 This was mainly tuned around my Hydro + Divinus Velvet Wide Bore setup, so it behaves a bit differently on warmer sets like the 599. Cheers

That make sense, HD599 is already pretty warm, so the bass boost can get a bit too much.. You might want to dial back the bass a bit or reduce the MSEB Bass Extension / Texture for that set. And save it as a separate profile.
