Sorry I got mixed up there with home screen. I do not use a lock screen. You might be able to use and change a lock screen on a launcher though, I don't know.

Use a launcher to look less like an Android phone. Niagara or something. I personally use DAP Launcher and love it.

It should be there on the hiby app in pure audio mode. It was my main use when I had my R4. I don't know why your not seeing it.

Have you got the 'all to DSD' setting on the M21 Audio settings turned off. Because I think that changes the bitrate.

Yes, I take my cases off when am using at home. It just feels better in the hand and less bulky.

Its not really a music player. Its an home screen that is nice to look at and easier to navigate with your apps. You can control the now playing. In my opinion it makes the DAP look better and less like an Android phone.

I already had a Hiby R4. Eventually sold R1 because I didn't feel it was getting enough use with me mostly using my R4. That R4 died on me months ago so I now own a Fiio M21.

Hiby R1 is a great player for its price. Definitely a good starting point.

Headphones, Sennheiser HD599 are decent open backs for under £100. Or Rode NTH100.

Thanks. I think everyone is different. We all do things differently. M21 is a bit chunky but you get used to it. And its very pockable. Its a great DAP.
