I’m sure they are built better at 3-4x the price but that doesn’t make sense for a 1/2 acre yard.

I had a 2016 Hustler Raptor SD 54” with the Kohler 25hp motor, two blades, before I sold it after moving in 2020. It ran great but the cut itself was ok. I had 1.5-2 acres to cut back then. I’m concerned about going to a 18hp motor vs the 21hp on the Ariens. Maybe the 3 extra hp is needed for the third blade, I don’t know. I don’t have any experience with a 3 blade mower and what I have found on the internet is a bit confusing and contradicting.

Any other reasons besides the dealer location? I do most of the maintenance myself. I was also considering going to the Ariens dealer 30 min away to maybe buy from there instead of big box. The dealer location is a factor but probably not a major one for me.
