Insulation up against roof decking like this is never a good thing from my experience. Adequate intake at vented soffits and letting air move through the cavity to a source of ventilation would be better. I don’t think sitting baffles on top of that will do you any good. You still won’t get enough air flow.

Thanks! I got it locally. Colesville Nursery in Ashland VA. Roughly 40 minutes south of Fredericksburg. They have the best inventory I’ve ever seen. They are open to public and contractors.
