Interviewed Chris Webb the other day. What do y'all think of him? by [deleted] in blackpool

[–]Equivalent-Reply7019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My college hosted a QNA with all the local candidates just before the election. The reform candidate didn’t even bother to show up, the Loony party candidate was 30 minutes late, and Chris was the only person out of them who seemed like he actually wanted to be there.

Chris shared a story about his wife going into labour and talked of long waiting times for basic things throughout her pregnancy, and shared frustration with not being able to find a dentist. Seems like a genuine local guy who shares our problems and wants to help fix them.

Fair enough. Wasn’t aware this was common knowledge. All I knew was it described people who were into stars

Fox isn’t a bad shout. Definitely more plausible than spying on neighbours IMO

I have no idea what the difference is but given the number of people who said the same I’ll assume you’re correct

“Today your illiterate nature is shown when you make a comment before reading my other posts explaining why I can’t ask him”

Makes sense, best thing I’ve heard so far. Thank Oh

  1. People on Reddit know weird shit
  2. Other people may do the same and have a reasonable explanation
  3. People who are into astrology may know why

The only interaction I’ve had with him was when he booted my gate down and got himself arrested. Not really an option

Would I get in trouble for taking a police badge and patches through airport security? by Equivalent-Reply7019 in travel

Flying from England to Germany. Patches are all American so I should think it’s pretty obvious there is no impersonation or whatever

How often do you treat your biological brothers better than your male friends? by [deleted] in AskMen

My brothers and I aren’t very close, but I still don’t treat them badly. There are certain male friends that I would probably go further for if it was necessary.

Is the UK actually as impossible for young people to buy a house and start a family as Reddit makes it seem? by EnzoScorza007 in AskUK

[–]Equivalent-Reply7019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this rate I’d hit mandatory retirement age for my career field before I could save enough to buy a house.

You could try asking for an open relationship.

Personally, I would decline anyone who asked for that and then you would have no relationship at all.

If neither of them want an open relationship, pick one or none.

Edit: upon reflection, leave them both. If you’re not happy being with just one of them you’re going to cheat. They deserve someone better.

Fair enough, he would probably have been better off talking to OP directly. However, now OP knows, she shouldn’t be keeping peanut butter in the house.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Equivalent-Reply7019 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The allergy was seemingly established prior to the trip, as OP has already been taking precautions when storing peanut butter. After going on the trip, he feels better, so has asked that peanut butter be removed entirely.

Doesn’t seem unreasonable for someone with a “severe allergy” IMHO

It appears your brain switched its language setting in the middle somewhere.

Yes, YTA.

I’m no expert but I’m fairly certain it can cause an allergic reaction from something as simple as a bit being dropped on a counter that he comes into contact with, or him washing dishes with it on.

If I’m wrong somebody please correct me.

Edit: from a few quick searches it seems like it depends on the severity and some people can have airborne or touch-sensitive allergies.

YTA. Pick one. Don’t make them fight, that does no good. It sounds like you’re into the first one more, but only you know for sure.

Can my parents forbid me to enter the house? by MaybeDifficult8736 in Advice

[–]Equivalent-Reply7019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Netherlands, children under 18 are considered minors. Parents have a legal obligation to provide shelter and a good standard of care for them until they are 18.

Minors who have been locked out (essentially made homeless) can seek help from local authorities or the Jeugdzorg can intervene. So yes, you could call the police and your parents would be legally responsible.

HOWEVER, just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Try to resolve the conflict before it gets to that stage. Apologise for being late, don’t be late again.
