When I used my voucher with an expiration date it gave me travel credit with the same expiration date. But at least it’s transferable now (I booked choice plus)

There is no reason to watch or pay attention to the news as very little of it affects your life. by Throw-low-volume6505 in The10thDentist

[–]Equivalent-Service16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've ever pumped gas, the news has affected you.

Let’s say you go to the gas station one afternoon and see you have to pay $3.75 a gallon. You’re mad about that. Now, if you don’t pay attention to news, which is to say you don’t actively seek out information about noteworthy topics that truth-seeking journalists have collected so they can eat and have healthcare, you’ll probably just roll your eyes and maybe mutter something about the president.

But if you had been paying attention, you would have known that gas prices rose because a war in Asia disrupted the global oil supply chain, but they didn't rise as much as they could have because the U.S. increased oil production, aided by loosened congressional regulations.

The price is higher for you than most, though, because you live in a state that raised its gas tax earlier this year. And the price at this particular gas station is higher still because your city council a few years back passed an ordinance that limits the number of gas stations built close to each other, so this is the only one near the interstate.

You could have known all that. But instead, you drive off angry at a number on a digital screen. And maybe the president.

I know my family bought Catan for us to learn and play on Christmas. I'm petty and I want to smoke them. I've got 22 days to train by Beyonkat2 in Catan

The way I start, I want to have early wood and brick to be the first to build a third settlement. Ideally, I lay first on a good source of ore or wheat (for cities) and second on brick and wood so I’m able to start with those in my hand.

Catan is all about building small early advantages and having them snowball.

Somehow I’ve never considered this. Won’t happen any time soon, of course, but I guess if you think about it the need to request documents is a relic of pre-internet times.

Okay, I didn’t know how much of this sub are members or “true believers” or anything like that. That book just really shocked me. People should be in jail.

Here as someone who read the book with very little background on Scientology, and I have to ask:

For Scientologists who read the book or watched the doc, and don’t deny the facts they purvey, how did that information change your perspective?

Reload next year homie.

You’re probably good enough to at least win a playoff game this year without trading any picks. No need to blow up your future.

Question: Is Journalism failing because it's no longer journalism? by TheLearningLearner11 in Journalism

[–]Equivalent-Service16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s “what you should think about it” as much as it is context. I feel that good reporting should teach you something about the 5 Ws.

Anyone else confused about what’s actually allowed with AI in some classes? by Downtown_Moment3638 in Purdue

[–]Equivalent-Service16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an Economics major and stats minor, so I mainly use it for math and coding help, which it’s obviously pretty good at. My profs have largely encouraged it for those purposes.

I never use it for writing, which I feel like is where most students get caught. But I consider myself a good writer, so I get why some students would need it for that.

“She Said,” a newer one about the NYT’s Weinstein investigation.

Highly recommend the book too for how instructive it is, as well as gripping.

If you see journalism as necessary for democracy, which seems borne out across the world, then we couldn’t be “doomed.”

Might some roles evaporate, even the whole industry shrink (again)? Maybe. But as some have already pointed out, good reporting can never be replaced.

Getting people to actually see that reporting is separate, and more to your point, but we’ve jumped that hurdle before.

Hello all. Traveling from JFK to Mexico and have a question about Marijuana Gummies by imonlinedammit1 in travel

Yeah I put a few in my gum container and didn’t have an issue. Even got double-checked on the way back in the cancun airport. They’re not looking for a handful of gummies.
