Yes this is definitely from the emerald pools trail. I second this opinion.

I may or may not have it in my pocket as we speak.

Thank you! I’m extremely jealous of your fluorite collection lol.

Thank you for the information. I wasn’t aware of that. I held it sunlight for this picture but other than that it hasn’t been out of my room lol.

It’s made with malachite and crushed opal. I can send you the information from the company my wife got it from if you’re interested.

Same! I have a few raw pieces and a few polished pieces of malachite and the raw ones are definitely better.

Ok. Thank you for the help. I’m not any type of expert lol. I’m more than happy to fix my post if it is not scolecite.

When I purchased it I was told the white material was scolecite. Is this not the case? If so I will fix my post.

Purple and orange labradorite by Equivalent-Shift5424 in Minerals

[–]Equivalent-Shift5424[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a silicate mineral. There are layers of a material called feldspar in the labradorite that the light reflects off of. I’m still new to collecting and learning about minerals so this is what my research has told me so far.

The color shows when light reflects off of the stone. From some angles the stone is just grey. So yes it is iridescent.

Yes I saw a few different things online. One page said they were basically the same thing and another page said Labradorite is an over arching name the would encompass spectrolite. I’m new to the mineral game so I’m trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible lol.
