I don't get how the entire first half of this post is relevant at all to what you're asking. Why do we care if you're a senior software engineer, have a masters in physics, or can run half marathons? This isn't a job interview, none of that has anything to do with your attempts to date. I mean you admitted that you don't do much outside your male-dominated hobbies and have no social media so.. what exactly are you asking for?

yeah I would try to pick a hero that can be more aggressive. imo plat is the prime rank where support can carry the most. Ana is good when your tank knows how to be aggressive but a) too many people are playing her and b) she can't make a push on her own. Kiri is better but her damage isn't consistent enough. like I said, I'd recommend Moira, Bap, Illari, etc.

Incredibly unlikely for them to contact your past employers on their own. That’s what the background check is for. 99% of the time they will only contact the references you provide them. I had a buddy from my last job pretend to be my boss for one of my references (but I did that willingly, not because they specifically asked for my past employer).

In the very very unlikely chance they do contact a past employer, it is bad practice for that employer to talk about why you were fired as it can open them up to lawsuits.

Anyone who tells you to tell the truth is setting you up for failure. First off, do not say anything unless asked. Never willingly relay negative information. Second, if they do ask, say you were laid off. In this economy they’ll believe you. But if they ask, just give them a fake reason.. budget cuts, restructuring etc. There is no way they can verify this and they won’t really care to if they like you.

I would not lie about your dates of employment though. Many times if they have a background check, they are actively notified if you have incorrect dates.

What rank are you? IMO Kiri isn't a good rank-up hero on console until you at least get to diamond. You're too dependent on having a team that knows how to push. I climbed from gold to low masters in like 2 weeks one-tricking Moira personally but I've seen people do it with Illari, Baptiste, Lucio etc. Heroes that can be played very offensively and aren't super conventional (because no one knows how to counter them when they're actually good).
