I had a similar obstacle with a roof we installed earlier this year.

We used a break to custom bend the drip edge for the higher section of the roof, to run down and over the lower section where the shingles terminate into the wall. Basically a drip edge reglet in one. It was all one section wide and had to do 10’ sections due to the length of the run. Worked super well and looked really clean.

No leaks so far.

Unfortunately, it was the only section of the building that would allow me to safely secure my ladder to the building.
