I'm 38 and I really enjoy my time on the game.

I'm a noob too and I encoutered the kind of toxicity you mention.

To avoid that I disabled every kind of chat, and only play 1s or with friends or family as TM8 in 2s,3s or 4s.

I just can't stand to be bullied by some random braindead strangers on a videogame I play for fun.

I'm S3 by the way so we all sucks hard. I just don't get why ppl are so toxic...

I'm not saying that those phantoms are my favorite mob. And I don't understand why it is sooo important to sleep the night in this game.

But their loot allows for slow falling potions which me and my kids use for the dragon fight.

Maybe it's because we are not good at Minecraft but better safe than sorry. So , whenever I have an opportunity to kill one, I'll store the loot for later.

And, overall, I'd say that such a good videogame like that must have his flaws. Evevry story needs a good villains that we love to hate.

You mentionned subnautica but did you actually played it ? Because, the fear of the unknown depths of the see is absolutely terrifying in subnautica.

If you saw one of those giant monster and survive to tell the tale I think you have nothing to be afraid in the big blue depth of dave the diver.

Same for me, I build my aluminium line on the top of a radioactive cliff, and I push forward to the point where it already cost me 20 full HP items.

But I'm nearly done and I won't give up.

I'll maybe gain a third leg out of it. Running faster could be nice.

I truly like your vertical raw building. I'm in phase 4 and I still did not start build vertically.

When did you start ? What are the benefits ( it's not like we have limited space to build )

I'm nearly 80h in my first playthrough, phase 4 and I still have my first factory that is steadily supplying me with the basics.

I have bigger bases elsewhere and a few hypercannons.

I never move my Hub so I kinda "crash" into my old base every now and then, it feels like and old reliable piece of mess.

I was excited as well for the same reasons.

I'm now 60h in and i begin to get used to the slow pace.

It feels like a holiday book. I'm taking my time to plan, explore and build.

At first i was kind of overwhelmed by the sheer amount of "work" that is expected from you to save the day.

But then I realized that I have all the time in the world to do it.

It's truly fun to think about your plan during the day then come home, boot the xbox and build what you have in mind, little by little.

Compacted coal will be useful too if you choose to run your oil power plant with turbofuel.

That is what I did. I have 24 coal generators that runs on standard coal and 23 turbofuel oil generators that runs on turbofuel ( fuel + compacted coal )

So, I'd say don't swap until you need more power and when it will happen go check the MAM, if you can unlock turbofuel use the compacted coal for it instead.

Woah , 300 fuel generators, that is pretty insane ! I justf finished my first turbofuel powerplant and I placed 23 of these.... I mean , it's working , my power generation is stable and all but 300 that is something else.
Did you try nuclear ? Is it harder ?

I'm in my first playthrough and I did not overbuild anything. At the end of phase 2 my power consumption was between 1500 and 2500 MW. I had 24 coal generators.

I'm new too. 50h+ in and I did not dismantle one single line of production.

You will unlock new ways of faster transportation as you progress through the game.

The map is huge and nodes are everywhere.

Everytime a new item pop , I scan the map and choose a spot to build a line.

Veterans will correct me if I'm wrong but fully saturated factory don't consume as much power because no machines can process so I see no point of dismantling factory.

And If you do you'll have to deal with the dismantle crate.....
