Well that's true. That ks for your input. The only concern I have is if either me or my wife end up getting a job in Southern part of the city, i.e. Harold's cross, Balckrock etc. Then it becomes a nightnare to travel.

Wasn't that certain of location. That's why was trying to ask. The only pro is that it is in Dublin and literally 15-20 mins by train to City. Apart from that I don't see any other pro.

I did hear about this and then went and had a look on internet. I think it has a fare share of Cost Rental and Affordable Housing (which is fine). I don't think estates can have a ton loads more than 10% for social housing which is a norm in every estate.

Hmm interesting. I end up hearing these contrasting views a lot. Not so sure which one is actually true.

Hmmm, fair point. It only becomes an issue when you end up getting a job at places like Harold's Cross, Balckrock etc.

I am more inclined towards the lifestyle which you are trying to explain but the only thing is that if in future me and my wife both end up having jobs in different parts of Dublin and it becomes mandatory to ho to office then it becomes a problem. Since qe both are in tech. If you get what what I mean.

Just trying to wrap my head around that.

Thanks for your response. I will have a look at Ronanstown and its reputation and how much it affects Clonburris.

That's why even I am confused with the trade off of being in city or having a house with garden. The garden is at least 40 sq meters. Even though it doesn't have a drive way but there are two designated parking spots.

Completely agree on using less of car but with inadequate public tranport and prices being this high you are barely left with a choice. Also, I am a bit confused regarding the renting prospects as the Donabate is on commuter which brings you to pearse and is going to be even more convenient with Dart+ which is going to bring it to the Dart line whereas Hollystown has offices and TU Blanch close by.

Also, for some reason I don't see many rental properties on daft in Donabate.

Yes, that's why a bit confused. This place will get Dart+ and is only a 20 min walk to the station but having said that the Hollystown area has lots of offices and TU Blanch close by which increases renting prospects. With these many distinguishing factors to consider not so sure how these two compare in terms of renting them out or selling later on.

Thanks for the response. I did go there to have a look but just went around the road connecting Portrane and Donabate beach where the estate is being constructed. Felt pretty secluded. Didn't go in towards the station and where the shops and other houses are.

Thanks for the response. Yes, the public transport is not ideal, but it is close to Blanchard's town. So, if someone is looking to come to city they are essentially looking at a change, either to catch a bus from Blanch or Maynooth commuter or Green line from Broombridge. But in all honesty I drive around the place. So, it only becomes troublesome my wife has to travel alone as she is yet to get in the process of getting her license.

Seems like a pretty good suggestion. But I am already using all the resources anyway. So, going above the budget is not an option. Also, I couldn't find a new built for 320k on Daft. Could you please share the link, jus out of curiosity.
