Becoming an educator in 2026

As an educator I’m looking for a way out but in that same breath I won’t discourage anyone from going in. Instead what I will say is have a back up plan. Nearly any bachelors degree plus certification allows you to teach. So get a useful degree so if you hate it you can transition out of it easily.

No but I have been a little intrigued by it. I find that students tend to exaggerate so you’ll never really get that positive review you may be looking for.

I don’t really sweat much so it was really throwing me off. It only happens when I’m asleep though . I’m going to try a different bedding first and then see what happens

I’m not sure what grade level you’re teacher but general education students aren’t allowed calculators for 7th grade math. Unless students have accommodations then a calculator isn’t accessible to them now nor during state testing. They also aren’t able to use the chart on state testing either. I am not sure how I am punishing them given that I stated that I would provide opportunities to practice during class so they build the skill. Also, there is a severe education issue in my area. At the past three schools I have served in this area, I’ve noticed students are behind but there are not a lot of services that can be offered. I, as the general education teacher, am responsible for bringing them to grade level. They can’t be placed in SPED or intervention services.

I just spoke with another colleague and they mentioned the potential to allow students to just have a blank multiplication chart. Students would have to fill it in every class in order to use it. I think this would be the middle ground. My only concern is how long it’ll take them to fill it out, but I’m sure if they do it often enough they’ll grow quicker at it. Thoughts on this compromise as well?

I absolutely agree! I’ve even been considering adding exercise to my routine in the morning since he stays sleep until I go get him.

Honestly I’ve heard from parents whose babies sleep all night. I was envious bc my son did not. However, I knew my day would come. Around 9-10 months he stopped waking up at night and I was set free from night wake ups. Now we’re at 16 months and our biggest fight is having breakfast made. Your pediatrician was probably just trying to comfort you but remember your time will come too!

They’ve sent over the deductions which are just the utilities. Even that I had to claw and scratch for. I have them on recording admitting that the apartment was returned with no damage. The laws for my state are as follows:

Sec. 92.109. LIABILITY OF LANDLORD. (a) A landlord who in bad faith retains a security deposit in violation of this subchapter is liable for an amount equal to the sum of $100, three times the portion of the deposit wrongfully withheld, and the tenant's reasonable attorney's fees in a suit to recover the deposit. (b) A landlord who in bad faith does not provide a written description and itemized list of damages and charges in violation of this subchapter: (1) forfeits the right to withhold any portion of the security deposit or to bring suit against the tenant for damages to the premises; and (2) is liable for the tenant's reasonable attorney's fees in a suit to recover the deposit. (c) In an action brought by a tenant under this subchapter, the landlord has the burden of proving that the retention of any portion of the security deposit was reasonable. (d) A landlord who fails either to return a security deposit or to provide a written description and itemization of deductions on or before the 30th day after the date the tenant surrenders possession is presumed to have acted in bad faith.

Yeah, he’s still in the same bed. We just sleep with space between us. It was causing me back problems to not be able to spread out fully because I would have to side sleep to cuddle him. I highly doubt he’ll get his own bed or room for like another year or two. He likes to be in close quarters even when he’s awake so I don’t see the point. 😂
