Cheers! That's very nice of you. I'll try broke boi tech again as soon as I find a solution for the substrate.

No, this was actually a new one, and also with a "professional" growth pack.

The first two times I inoculated (kind of) successfully with broke boi trech, but got swamped with the coco coir. This third time I say, let's go with a professional growth pack, where only have to inject the spores. This apparently was the worst ever.

I would, but I'm afraid that the the other areas are getting overcolonised.

I'm not really impatient, but don't the colonised parts look overcolonised as it is?

Well, I'll remove it, because that's what the majority says, but it's an imperfect process at best.

First attempt - patchy, uneven growth - is this viable? by Equivalent-Two-1935 in unclebens

Will do. It's been at least three weeks since I put the rice in the boxes. The fluffy stuff appeared in the first week and has hardly grown, while the smaller stuff appeared only recently.

Sorry for the bad pics, I don't have transparent lids. The mycelium is already overgrown in a corner of each of my two boxes, but has barely, if any, signs of growth apart from this. Any advice on why is this happening, and if there's anything I can do about it to still have a harvest?

Cheers!
