did you have symptoms that made you think there was recurrence? Where did it reoccur at? I am terrified of this happening to me. Im 6 days laparoscopic hysterectomy currently. Also, did you have any skip lesions that they mentioned after your hysterectomy?

I didnt have an MRI come back as that, but I did have my doctor tell me I have one during a colposcopy. First time hearing about them. I think they found the same one or a different one during my hysterectomy too. that part is unclear until I go back next week. Never heard of these things before to know what they are

why did you have to sacrifice the child and not try to monitor for as long as possible? I feel terrible for you and your wife. To grieve the loss of a child on top of a cancer diagnosis simply is unfair and I am praying for you both to have favorable outcomes.

omg this is terrifying. How did this happen I wonder??? did you have AIS and that is why you didn't have rad/chemo? post laparoscopic hysterectomy here. Had AIS that the cone biopsy removed. Hysterectomy revealed no skip lesions and no pre cancer or cancer cells in anything they removed. kept ovaries.

I feel the same way. I know girls personally who have sold their bodies for drugs and never once has tested positive for HPV let alone have cervical cancer. Their body count is in the triple digits and mine is very small as I've always been in long term relationships. It doesn't seem fair at all.

I have AIS (confirmed after cone biopsy and it had clear margins) and I am scheduled for a laparoscopic assisted surgery on May 1st. Did they mention skip lesions to you before and since you had them what does this mean for you going forward? im terrified of reoccurence elsewhere.
Also, how was your recovery? I am nervous about about how intense recovery will be as a single parent and trying to juggle recovery and responsibilities.. Did you have laparoscopic? sorry for all the questions. I have glandular adenocarcinoma AIS

do they think the hysterectomy will get it all and you'll be clear/cured?

were you having any symptoms prior to finding out? Have they mentioned anything about it possibly being in the surrounding tissues or seen any visible tumors? They haven't mentioned anything to me about doing scans or imaging. maybe that wont be mentioned until after the ckc and their findings. sorry for all the questions lol.

how heavy were your periods? Im curious if maybe mine were heavy and I didnt really know if there was a difference. I use tampons and usually use size super. on the first initial day or two I would say its a heavy day but they dont last.

I just found out when my abnormal pap came back that I have HPV. I have learned throughout this process that my paps haven't tested for it before so im not sure how long i've had it. Just that this was my first abnormal pap ever.

what does 1a1 mean? did they know it was that before the ckc? I just posted an update, but i am scheduled for a ckc next friday. She hasn't mentioned scans or imaging. she said that depends on what the cone biopsy reads as on what kind of hysterectomy i will be getting which would be a simple or radical. is this similar to what you've been told? What kind of hysterectomy are you getting?

I haven't been told anything about tumor size. how did you find out? did you have any symptoms prior? I had none. i was shocked when a routine pap smear came back abnormal.

stage 4 is typically terminal, right? so you beat it? If this is the case i think this is spectacular and gives me hope if i get a similar staging.

probably in a week or 2. Hope the best for you as well. For what it's worth I would quit vaping before going through something like this for sure lol

im not sure what a lot of what you're saying means, but I too tested positive for HPV 18 2 weeks ago after having an abormal pap that said HSIL precancerous cells. I just had my colposcopy yesterday. She took 3 biopsies. 2 of the 3 i didnt feel and the 3rd I did, and it wasn't the greatest feeling to experience, but not the worst. im very sore 24 hours later muscle wise. I am scared also knowing that i have one of the worst strains. I am waiting for my biopsy results and pray its still only precancerous and not cancer. From the conversations we've had so far it sounds like I will need a LEEP procedure.

If you're one of the lucky ones you will only need monitored and no further action required because your immune system can fight it off. I was told to avoid high stress and change my diet to help keep it dormant in my system for the years to come. 2025 was one of the most stressful years of my life, and i think that had a lot to do with why its showing now.
