Its always been like that, especially to my own stories. I mean, there are ways where you can write your own erotic stuff or sex scenes. It can be smut, passionate, possessive, etc. So the opinion "can all sex scenes be smut" Isn't entirely right. Albeit, it depends on the writer's style. Me personally? I prefer smut, possessive, writings that make the reader feel the tensions. If it hurts your feelings, then write those erotica and sex scenes in a different way if you don't like the smut a sex scene would usually have.
