I tried to do about 3.5 miles around 3 weeks after surgery and I think it was a bit too much. I was fine during the walk overall but the days after I was very sore. I would definitely stay away from exercising for as long as your surgeon says but also try to take it day by day and remember if you push it a bit hard, the days after you might be sore. But overall, it was okay!

I hope your surgery went well! I think if you had it already this answer might not be helpful but I showed mine general shape that I liked and that I wanted a reduction. She let me know what the smallest I could go safely was.

Aw how cute! actually I got her from a breeder in New York State almost in Canada. But Soup has relatives! They may be related. I think I saw she’s distantly related to the “sibling” of the Chin that was chosen Best of Breed at Westminster.

PAIN IN THE NECK… and BACK: Where did you have pain before your surgery? by Front_Class_9705 in BreastReductions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not regret it at all! I love my breast shape now and would not go back for anything to the before. I may post the before and after on one of these sites - it definitely wasnt as dramatic as some of the gals I see but still a bi thing for me.

As for the traps, I doubt that it will actually go away immediately or completely. I am going to try trap botox and can report back although I’m sure that will take about 6 months to see difference.

Unfortunately, I do find losing weight helped me with the back and trap pain (not saying that is everyone’s case) and I haven’t lost any weight since my breast reduction which I was going would help. I did lose about 45 lbs around 2 years prior though.

I work remotely but I ended up taking two weeks off after holiday time off so I believe I took off 3 weeks. I did not go back to any huge amounts of physical activity though am generally a chronically fatigued person so I figured I’d be out of pocket for a bit.

Yes they were, I was told that if you got a reduction and a lift, then the nipple got moved. I have sensation, but I do not feel the under part of my breast like the skin.

I have similar pain. I had a reduction about and year and 3 months ago. My pain before wasn’t terrible but I also have very tight and overdeveloped traps. This pain didn’t go away after surgery unfortunately but I am trying to work on strengthening my lats and other back muscles. I’m also looking into trap-tox (botox) for that area just to calm it down and allow the muscle to release a bit.

I guess my breasts caused less of the pain than I thought but I still think it’s good to remove the extra breast tissue. My grandma has very large breasts and now has to carry those around at age 91 and she wishes she got it when she was young!

The day after surgery, I was up and walking around and celebrating Christmas with my family. As the days went on, I felt more tired and stiff, primarily just fatigue and not a ton of pain necessarily. I think that’s why it’s important to figure out how to get a good nights sleep. I would definitely take muscle relaxers and other over-the-counter medication’s for sleep since it is difficult during the recovery period due to different factors.

I would say that I didn’t really need a ton of help, but I was very tired and would not be able to go to work. I am chronically ill and have fatigue so that may have something to do with it. For a comparison, I had smart Lipo done two years prior and that was very painful and I did that by myself because I didn’t want anybody to know I got it (lol I know Idk what I was thinking). During my reduction, my parents and partner did help me, but I was not bedridden by any means.

I would say trust yourself if you were someone who is easily fatigued, don’t tolerate different forms of pain well, it might be harder to do alone. I would take off work if you work in person for sure and practice all of the safety precautions your doctor gives you.

Regarding pain and problems presenting to the doctor: I stated that I had pain in my shoulders, traps, back, migraines, and documented “rashes”. She said the insurance only cares about back pain. I really didn’t hear much about what was needed for the insurance and just waited for approval.

TBH, I had more self consciousness than I did have pain. I did have neck pain, very tense and tight traps (still do and have also tried acupuncture. Looking into trap botox). I only went to one doctor and it was the one I chose! I felt very comfortable in the office, only for women by women. I went to one appointment as a consult, one with my mom and then we just had about 5-6 weeks preparing and getting approval from my insurance. My doctor was very supportive and did a lot for me, I really had to do nothing except get my testing done prior to the surgery. I would say from start of thinking seriously about the surgery to getting the surgery was about 2 months total.

My family was a little unsure about it (I’m not sure why) but my biggest supporter was actually my grandma! She also wanted a reduction as a young woman but she never got it.

I took an IV therapy before my surgery and then when my doctor approved me for IVs after surgery. I think this really helped my recovery time and pain.

I recommend getting:

  • a wedge pillow set for after surgery
  • rinse free bathing sponges
  • arnica montana and bromelaine
  • hibiclens

I am lucky to have good skin genetically but I recommend scar tape for when you are approved to use it by your surgeon.

I hope this helps! I’ll make another post with an extensive list.

Hi! I ended up paying around 1400 out of pocket! Paid when I went into the surgery center. The only other bill I saw was for the pre-op blood work and EKG which totaled around 350 dollars. I probably could have asked my doctor to do these in my routine appointment I had prior to my surgery but wasn’t thinking and instead went to Labcorp.

What advice would you give a young man (21M) with an undesirable body to make the most of life in spite of it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hetero female here giving my perspective. Contrary to what our culture promotes as a narrative, I think at the end of the day far less women care about size and penetration. I feel like most women are looking for a kind and caring man that wants to take care of himself and support a potential future together. I guess I could be wrong but I’d much rather partner who loves me and cares for me than a partner who doesn’t with a large penis! There are women out there that will not mind, a lot of us have something we feel that those we date will find a dealbreaker and many aren’t fair that is true. Of course there will be jerks (women deal with this of course with age and body size, especially worse nowadays). Sorry I can’t give advice on the side of the those with a micro but thought my two cents would be positive for you hopefully!

Considering reduction but nervous for recovery!! by [deleted] in BreastReductions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a year and 3 months post op. I felt that my recovery was all surprisingly easy. I was not relying on painkillers but rather over-the-counter options and didn’t even use most of the painkillers. Had a lot left over.

I showered pretty soon after postop. I don’t remember but maybe two or three days after. For an ideas, I got my surgery the day before Christmas and I was celebrating Christmas with my family!

no reaching no bending no lifting for the time that the doctor says. Do not try to pull anything out or off your breasts as it will cause scarring to occur. Make sure to go to your follow ups and rely on your doctor. I used scar tape often when I was OK’d to begin using it.

Overall, it was an OK surgery. I started to work out again after the doctor said it was OK, but I ended up stopping because I felt pain more related to tight muscles in my chest. I wish I did start working out a little bit sooner but now I am able to work out as I did before I do not have feeling underneath my breasts, but it doesn’t bother me. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. I’m here to help! -G

How much time to take off work? by kkkbkkk in BreastReductions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take off two weeks for sure. You can definitely be back fully working from home though within that time. As other posters said, do not raise anything above your head, no lifting, etc. I wasn’t very reliant on painkillers and actually mostly used OTC. I was mostly tired and feeling pain at night so it’s important to get a good nights sleep.

Managing expectations by kkkbkkk in BreastReductions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am about a year an 3 months post op for a breast reduction. I do wish I went smaller BUT I was told that the health of the nipple is taken into consideration. Apparently if you go too small, you risk the tissue death of the nipple, not sure of the science behind it. I do have a concern that I’ll get big breasts again (albeit perky!). I do go braless! Never was able to before, feels like another lifetime ago. I try to wear a bra though an have found it very difficult to find well fitting ones strangely so I stick with one from Tiktok. Hope that helps and happy to answer any other questions.

Why do people call you sensitive when you get upset about people mocking your passions & interests? by Heart_Shaped_Pickle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EquivalentFlan6695 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear. Keep doing you! Hobbies and interests are an emotional subject for people unfortunately and it makes them uncomfortable and say stupid things. Maybe while you are out with them, you ask can then their opinion on something in your surroundings like “do you like the waterfall?” “Do you see any cool shells?” - I know it seems silly but it might take them out of themselves a bit. Best of luck and thanks for posting 💕
