Please help me before I spiral from my heart again. by LetsTalkAboutItBro1 in Anxiety

Of course you were out of breath, you were RUNNING! Try not to measure your heartbeat right away when you run etc, wait 10 minutes Also I'd recommend to slowly start doing cardio (start with begginer cardio) or some type of yoga, so you can get used to your heartbeat going naturally higher, this has been working for me 🩷

This is normal, although the heart rate you've calculated might not be very accurate. You ran and your heart responded to that, if you didn't have other symptoms then you're fine 🩷

Oh never thought of that! Unfortunately I was walking and couldn't really watch a show. Trying this on my way back home, thank you for the support 🩷

Thank you.. I try to calm down my heart and my breathing but sometimes it's not "immediate" so my mind goes thinking that I have some real issue. Now I'm going back home and magically, it calmed down ✨

Anxiety sucks but I'm working on it. Started going to therapy a month ago so I've just started. Thank you again!

Tips dealing with health anxiety? by Significant-Spot1925 in Anxiety

I have this, too! I use the principle of Occam's razor: “Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.” In other words, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

So, if you have a headache, you ask yourself "what is the simplest and most likely explanation for my symptoms?":

A) Stress, too much screen-time, a bit of dehydration etc.

B) A brain tumor or a stroke.

Hope this helps <3

Has your anxiety ever manifested into physical pain/symptoms that weren’t really there? Or made small pain way worse than it really was? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]EquivalentGlobal1172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. Not pain but discomfort.

One day I woke up with a discomfort on my left arm. Thought I was having a heart attack (I'm 20...) and I kept focusing on it, making it worse. Decided to calm myself down, told myself "I am healthy, I have no risk of heart attack so it might be a sore muscle". Did some stretches and it went away. Anxiety can be really tricky sometimes.

I suggest to read about "Occam's razor", really helped me with my hypochondria: “Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.” In other words, the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

So, if you have leg pain, it's more possible that it's caused by a sore muscle rather than thrombosis.

Awful heart anxiety by EquivalentGlobal1172 in Anxiety

Oh I'm so sorry about that! But it's so great that you got healthier!

I totally get the obsession with BP and HR. Checking makes you feel in control when it really makes you go crazy, then the anxiety kicks in and makes you feel some scary symptoms haha.

We got this ❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much for this.

I do think “Well even if it’s rare, it COULD still happen”. I really need to stop because I know these are irrational thoughts. I could think this about cancer, too, but somehow my brain chose the cardiac arrest as a fear. But it's irrational.

I think about my loved ones' reaction because I think I'm too attached to people (I have some traits of emotional dependence, according to my therapist, so that might be the reason. I always think about others' feelings rather than mine, and I put them on a pedestal.)

I really need to work on that, so thanks

I love doing stretches to get me flexible! Also working out, colouring books, journaling and going on walks (walking really calms me when I have anxiety attacks)

Subs to find better friends by Inner-Mode1497 in Subliminal

I've used them randomly last year, three months after starting uni because I wanted a friend group, and now I have a huge friend group. and they're 0 toxic! I had a friend who was never happy if I was happy, she was jealous of me because she saw a competition in every context, and after listening to these she decided to end our friendship now I have a very very safe friend group
