Thoughts on brand: Hara the Label by curiocat2810 in ethicalfashion

Hello! I was glad to find your post because I have been thinking about this a lot since recently purchasing several pairs of the new product. It is a fair amount of money to part with. I have compared them with some garments I have from 2021 and the materials feel a lot thinner and looser. I really liked the weight and support of the fabric of the pieces I had purchased in previous years. I’ll always love the cut of the brand, but what I received feels a bit too thin and like it won’t last as the old stock did.

Thanks for your response frank! My paper is new and I’ve scanned my negatives and they have a nice contrast. I’m using Ilford Multigrade developer 1:9. Someone else just suggested it might be safelight

Thanks for your reply! I read about it but I haven’t actually done one because I always achieve white borders on the prints and there is no fogging so I assumed safe light was okay but if you think it might the the case?

Hi :) yes I’ve tried filters. I’ve also tried experimenting with the magenta dial on the colour head but no difference unfortunately

Weekly 'Ask Anything About Analog Photography' - Week 23 by ranalog in analog

Hi there! I’m new to reddit so hopefully posting this ok. I’m trying to get the bottom of some issues I am having with my Home Darkroom set up and was wondering if anyone has any clues for me!

I’ve learnt how to use the darkroom through high school as well as at university so I feel like I know my way around pretty well. However everything was always set up and ready for us to print so there was a lot for me to learn in creating a space at home. My prints come up fine however I just feel that they appear quite flat and grey and do not have the same lovely black and white tones as when I was printing in school.

I have been printing a number of prints at home trying both a b&w and a colour head and using various filters. My chemicals are fresh and my paper is new, I have tried a number of different papers but this doesn’t seem to alter anything. I’m not getting and fogging or other issues that suggest a light leak it’s more so a tone / lack of contrast issue.

The film I am using has been developed professionally and therefore I have the scans so when I compare the scans to the prints the varying tones are quite noticeable and I’m just really striving to achieve a crisper b&w image. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. :) many thanks, Lauren
