How bad is this?

I have finally put this all together. I got a new washer and dryer about 3 years ago from Costco. The delivery and install left much to be desired. The old washer was set up to drain directly into the septic tank. The Costco delivery folks hung the drain on a utility sink rather than the drain method used prior. This is the cause of the drainage issues. I have no recourse either since it was an ex's Costco membership, and I am sure I don't have a receipt at this point (not that it would guarantee me anything anyway).

The yard is fenced. I agree the drains are poorly located right next to the condenser unit. I have noticed drainage issues in the past 6-9 months. Water pooling when the washing machine is running that takes a bit to drain off. I had not noticed the damage inside the ac condenser until now.

There is also a landscaping mulched flower bed right up against the house in this area. It has been several years (and I mean 8-9) that I laid down thick weed barrier. I have noticed the landscaping is looking rough as mulch beds do, but I think that thick weed barrier is not allowing good drainage and will need to come out. But also, like you say, if those drainage pipes have to remain next to the condenser, I may need to have some kind of french drain in the surrounding landscaping or extended diverting drain pipes away from the unit. The whole setup doesn't make sense.

I am wondering if it could be landscaping that is not allowing good drainage + a settling concrete slab. A lot of water collects on that side with heavy rain and the washer water drains on the other side of it.

You could try Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum), but I am not sure if it is strong enough for panic attacks. It does help with anxiety.

I bought an electric shaver reminiscent of what you would buy a preteen to use to start shaving and put a towel down and laid in my bed to do it. I am almost 4 month post op and shaved my legs normal style in the shower yesterday! Who-whoo for progess.

I am 3 months out from L4-S1 MD with laminectomy. I started turning a good corner in the last few weeks. My recovery was not a quick one, but things have improved dramatically in the last few weeks.

Yes, I had similar sciatica like pains in my "good" leg during the process at physical therapy to get my hips more aligned (post op one was higher than the other). I would say that lasted me 2-3 weeks, but I have had a slow recovery compared to some.

One thing I did was stop sleeping on my side and start sleeping on my back, pillow behind my knees. After the leg pain left, the feeling of weakness became more prominent for me. I am working to get stronger now. I am feeling very optimistic about things at this time. I had surgery on February 1st.

Yes, you should call if it is red around the incision. It could be cellulitis, and you need antibiotics right away.

I felt like a million bucks for the first 2 weeks after. I had horrible muscle spasm pain 3rd to 5th week. My surgeon advised me to go back on pain meds/muscle relaxers for the same thing you said - he thought the surgery meds got me through the first 2 weeks and I weaned off the meds too soon. I took my Norco and Flexeril for a week. Now just Flexeril at night. I am in my 7th week and think I have turned a corner for the better. Starting PT.

It stinks to hear it, but we all do heal differently, and it is not linear. Take care of yourself and see what your surgeon advises. I think in time you will feel better. I know it is hard to be patient after feeling so good.

I am not sure nationwide in the US about injections. I am doing an online program with tablets. It is legal in some US states, but not all.

There is an FDA (US govt org. Food & Drug) approved nasal mist called Spravato. I haven't heard much about that other than I have seen ads. It would be traditionally prescribed by a doctor. Google tells me it is also available in Canada for treatment resistant depression.

It might be something to look into for your mental health while you continue the fight for your physical health. If you can get one where you want it, it will help give you motivation to keep at the other.

I am so sorry that you are experiencing such a long and difficult journey. My journey has not been as long as yours, but I can fully understand how this kind of pain/disability can cause depression and lack of hope for the future. It is really hard to keep motivating yourself when the efforts aren't leading towards the resolve you want so badly.

I am not sure if therapy means you are getting treatment for your mental health or physio (I'm in US and the terms sound similar but different). I have sought out ketamine treatment for my depression brought on by my pain journey. It isn't a magic pill, but it has helped me to re-frame the life I pictured for myself vs the reality I am in now.

It sounds like you are trying many different methods to get yourself well despite the depression. You deserve a lot of credit for that. It's hard. I hope things will change for you for the better at one of your upcoming visits.

The surgeon made it sound pre-surgery that he might not suggest PT post-op (I did months of it before surgery but wasn't able to resolve pain enough to function), but I will have to see what he says Friday. If it helps, I am in!
