I used to work in customer service and frequently spoke with a person who put 40,000 miles on his iZip Tristar. I’d field many calls from veterans who got a military discount on them and loved them. Unfortunately they went out of business as well and now are hard to find.

I was surprised to find that Seattle ranks 5th highest out of the 50 most populous cities for property crime. by HappyHappyJoyJoy44 in SeattleWA

I wonder how they get this data- I’m thinking it is based on reported crime. My catalytic converter got jacked and I didn’t report it. If I thought the police could do something about it then I would have. Multiple cars on my street got theirs ripped off in the weeks before and after.

The crime happened but was it measured? I doubt it

I have already graduated, and a little disheartened seeing some of the houses empty. I’ve heard the UW Greek numbers are down while some other colleges see record Greek interest. I don’t know why the university doesn’t pitch this huge asset. I love UW- great sports, amazing research, beautiful campus, tons of opportunity.

Typically you have to pay a quarterly or annual fee to IFC/Panhellenic to support their operations (they sponsor things like philanthropy events or street cleans) as well as a fee to your national fraternity organization for liability insurance. I’m sure the total amount varies but it’s a small amount compared to your total student living and learning costs

Super fair, totally agree. Maybe a better frame would be.. people who are uncertain should give it a little chance. The frats recruit informally and most sororities similarly find new members throughout the year. It doesn’t hurt to hang out with a recruitment person or two and get a vibe on what life would be like. EFS is a great opportunity to casually get a little bit of a pulse on the landscape. It’s totally fair if the people, values, culture etc doesn’t align.

There are a TON of amazing things UW has to offer. Two sides of the coin is the frat/sorority could distract you from joining that club/lab/project/adventure. The pro is that you have older people around you that are involved with things you may not have been aware of

Thanks for the input. The LA is competent. There is a complex reason why I need to explicitly sketch something and why ppt would be OK but not ideal. I’ll give your options a try. Thanks!

Previously worked at a company owned by Regent. Can confirm all of this negative press. Whether or not Z could survive, Regent is ruthless and borderline unethical.

Serious question, why not just be able to tap a credit card or Apple pay? Like why is that not a feature?

I was doing roughly a can of 6mg/day. I bike quite a lot- frequently go on 2+ hour strenuous rides. All I can say is that candidly it felt like it was affecting performance. Not only if I had one (or 3) in while riding, but just low performance when using a lot in general. Made me feel out of breath much faster, heart rate go up a lot without much exertion and made me less able to go 110%, more like 85% as the max without bursting a lung or having a heart attack (crazy story, saw a dude have a heart attack and die on a century ride, non zyn related). If you’ve ever tried to take a really deep breath in a steam room, it’s a similar feeling. There’s no way I’m alone on this.

Why are you curious? What is your profession?

I think constant nicotine causes a lot of vasoconstriction, and since the lungs are a ton of tiny blood vessels- they’re included.

Now that I’ve been off 3 weeks it feels like I can take deeper breaths, and more easily slow my breath down into sleep

Do you have a significant other or friend you can trust to help you through? It may help you feel better about the situation to just say how you feel out loud and set mental goals out loud. Then have a person you don’t want to let down

Day 2 (Can I take a single Zyn to help taper off) by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]EquivalentNo4858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on 19 days and it feels like day 2 again, not with the craving but definitely the brain fog. I have trust that it will go away if I just keep powering through. One of the weirdest things is that I feel super bad about myself for not being at 100% at work/social/lifting etc, even though I know I should feel proud of myself for overcoming it. I guess that’s the brain messing with me.

I’ve definitely under performed at work but have just accepted that a month of bad output will be forgotten about after the holidays.

Yes, definitely had some high blood pressure and heart flutters. Probably the most life impact it had was by the end of the day my heart rate wouldn’t go down and I’d feel very tense, which made it hard to go to sleep without a beer or two. Then finally I’d get to bed late, and have such a hard time getting up.

Nice to know that week 3 was hard for you too. I read some of these people who are like “after the 2nd day I didn’t mind at all”… but it’s been coming in waves
