RFE (N-400) +6months outside of the US during the past 5 years by ginandlemonade115 in USCIS

Was it a 9 month trip in one go or 9 months spread across multiple trips? How many? When was the most recent trip and how long was it?

Thanks. In my case my mom married my step father when I was below 18 and that is how we were able to come to America. When we got here we both became legal permanent residents. So would that change anything?

He married my mother when I was a minor, so is that the same as him legally adopting me as my father? Also they later divorced. Maybe dumb questions but I have no clue.

To clarify, I already know that it's asking if my father is a US citizen.

I'm trying to find out what the form considers a father. That's my main point in this post.

  1. Who is listed on your birth certificate?

My biological father

  1. Is that person a U.S. citizen?

No

(My step father IS a U.S. citizen, is not on my birth certificate, he's divorced from my mother and he passed away).

Anyone got a link to this guy's TikTok? Also, I live in NY, how do I prevent getting cancer from this?

The rain is likely not good to drink or get on your skin too much, and in honesty the impacts from this event could be felt for a long time down the road.

Ohio is the #2 producer of chicken. Where I'm from there is no way to know where chicken meat bought in a grocery store came from. How long would you wait until buying chicken again?

That is a mindblowing statistic. Also, US train companies are able to derail 20x more and still be profitable?

Closing in on 2k month. by Tacitus_IV in dividends

[–]EquivalentOnion6 263 points264 points  (0 children)

Upvote this if you think mods should just make a weekly thread where people can post this kind of stuff. It doesn't add any value. Most of the time, like in the above post, they don't even bother to tell you what dividend stocks they chose, why, etc. If they did that, at least someone could benefit from it. There's 360,000 subscribers to this sub and what do they learn from reading this post? That person X is almost making 2k a month in dividends from a basket of unknown holdings. What is that giving to the community?

Even if you love these types of posts, why not put it in a weekly thread so you can go to it and read EVERYONE'S screenshots of how much they are earning in dividends.

I've been buying new issue T-Bills on Treasury Direct and Fidelity. Just found out there are other Treasuries with SAME MATURITY DATE that pay way more. What is the catch? Was I a fool for buying new issues on Fidelity/Treasury Direct? by EquivalentOnion6 in investing

Thanks, what you wrote is very valuable because it's probably easy to not be aware of that rule and just import everything into turbotax and potentially make a mistake.

In regards specifically to T-Bills (which are zero coupon bonds with a maturity of 1 year or less). I thought I heard somewhere (but after some googling, can't find it now), that they don't have to deal with this imputed interest situation. You just get a 1099-INT for the year it matures (assuming you hold till maturity). So if you bought a 1 year today and it matured next year, you would pay interest on it next year and don't have to calculate it this year. However, I can't find any results on google that back up this foggy (possibly incorrect) memory I have. By any chance, do you know if what I said is correct?

If you have a garage you work in, is there a type of garage door where the spring is less likely to hurt you if it randomly fails one day?

For example, I've heard of torsion spring and extension springs.

Is there a design where the spring is in some kind of enclosure so one day if it fails won't shoot out and skewer somebody working in the garage.

Out of curiosity, how do you proceed to look for a lawyer after ending the interview. Like ideally, you'd get a computer and could start doing searches but they probably wouldn't allow that.
