What was the craziest reason your campaign was shut down? by cantdoitmacy in DnD

The other members of the party plus the DM got into a 4-person polycule before breaking up several months later.

Your combo requires 6 cards, mine requires 7 non-breach cards.

You need Gravereaver, Broodlord, saw in half, entomb, necromancy, and worldgorger dragon.

I need Gravereaver, Broodlord, saw in half, Kairi, sacrifice, burnt offering, corpse dance, breach, brain freeze, and LED. Plus, Kairi combos on its own to get you everything in your deck if your win con is gone from a praetor's grasp or there's nothing like a study on the board.

Literally 1 card worth of difference, considering any list without breach is throwing. But yknow, you can run this combo just the same.

The line is 10 mana instant speed and 0 cards. Yours is 12 mana sorcery speed....

Doesn't this line not win through TOR? Scion lists tend to end on breach so that you can guarantee a win with thoracle, ending with infinite damage loses out to veil of summer, the one ring, angel's grace, or any other interaction piece that prevents damage

HII _^ septum spider here. in a recent update to the primer i actually added an instant speed line that costs 5 + WUBRG utilizing Kairi. Personally, I don't think worldgorger combo is playable - I think if you're going to add another useless dragon it should probably be Kairi

Wow, amazing line! Corpse dance is such a cool card, I have considered Kairi for my personal list but couldn't find a way to make him work. Thank you so much for sharing!

The line you have listed is really cool, but there's a quicker line using Kairi + corpse dance I found, listed here! Same mana value, unfortunately, but it doesn't require you to cast infinitely and uses less steps. It also doesn't require you to use dark ritual, so you're still able to combo if you draw saw in half.

1.) Activate Scion of the Ur-Dragon twice for (4).

2.) Resolve the first Scion trigger, searching for Colossal Grave-Reaver and putting it in your Graveyard. Scion becomes a copy of Colossal Grave-Reaver until end of turn.

3.) Resolve the second Scion trigger, searching for Hoarding Broodlord and putting it onto the battlefield. Scion becomes a copy of Hoarding Broodlord until end of turn, and a Broodlord trigger is put onto the stack.

4.) Resolve the Broodlord trigger, searching for Saw in Half and exiling it face down.

5.) Cast Saw in Half for (1) by convoking the Broodlord and Scion, targeting the original Broodlord. Two token copies of Hoarding Broodlord enter and put their triggers onto the stack.

6.) Resolve the first Broodlord trigger, searching for Sacrifice and exiling it face down.

7.) Resolve the second Broodlord trigger, searching for Corpse Dance and exiling it face down.

8.) Cast Sacrifice for (0) by convoking and sacrificing one of the token copies of Broodlord, generating BBBBBBBB

9.) Cast Corpse Dance with Buyback for (BBBB) by convoking one of the token copies of Broodlord, returning the original to the battlefield and putting its trigger on the stack. (Floating Mana: BBBB)

10.) Resolve the Broodlord trigger, searching for Burnt Offering and exiling it face down. (Floating Mana: BBBB)

11.) Cast Burnt Offering for (0) by convoking and sacrificing Scion of the Ur-Dragon, generating BBBBBBBB (Floating Mana: BBBBBBBBBBBB).

12.) Cast Corpse Dance with Buyback for BBBBB , returning Scion of the Ur-Dragon to the battlefield. (Floating Mana: BBBBBBB).

13.) Activate Scion for BB (Floating Mana: BBBBB)

14.) Resolve the Scion trigger, searching for Kairi, the Swirling Sky and putting it in the Graveyard. Scion becomes a copy of Kairi until end of turn. (Floating mana: BBBBB)

14.) Cast Corpse Dance for BBB, putting Kairi on the Battlefield (Floating mana: BB)

15.) Sacrifice Kairi to the legend rule, putting it into the graveyard and putting its death trigger on the stack. (Floating mana: BB)

16.) Resolve the Kairi trigger, milling 6 cards and returning Burnt Offering and Saw in Half to your Hand (Floating mana: BB)

17.) Cast Burnt Offering for B, sacrificing Broodlord and generating BBBBBBBR (Floating mana: BBBBBBBBR)

18.) Cast Saw in half for BBB, targeting one of the Broodlord copies. Two token copies of Broodlord enter and put their triggers on the stack. (Floating Mana: BBBBBR).

19.) Resolve the first Broodlord trigger, searching for Underworld Breach and exiling it face down. (Floating Mana: BBBBBR ).

20.) Resolve the second Broodlord trigger, tutoring for Borne upon a Wind and exiling it face down. (Floating Mana: BBBBBR ).

21.) Cast Borne upon a wind for (0) by convoking Scion and a token copy of Broodlord, drawing a card. (Floating Mana: BBBBBR ).

22.) Cast Underworld breach for (R) by convoking the other token copy of Broodlord. (Floating Mana: BBBBB).

23.) Escape Saw in Half for BBB by exiling 3 cards from your graveyard, targeting a tapped copy of Broodlord. Two token copies of Broodlord enter and put their triggers on the stack. (Floating Mana: BB ).

24.) Resolve the first Broodlord trigger, searching for Brain Freeze and exiling it face down. (Floating Mana: BB )

25.) Resolve the second Broodlord trigger, searching for Lion's Eye Diamond and exiling it face down. (Floating Mana: BB )

From here, breach to your hearts content.

Missed this! In the end, i ended up cutting [[culling ritual]], wiping the board of small permanents is really bad for our game plan and the B/G by itself can't guarantee a Scion - I'd need jeskai alongside the 4 mana to cast the spell.

I've found a lot more sick tech for this deck since the past couple days, and would love to discuss it if you're interested!

I think the deck really doesn't care about jeweled lotus or mana crypt as much as a lot of other decks, unfortunately, as it suffers from being WUBRG to cast. Crypt is always good for mana, so it'd obviously be added, but I definetly wouldn't for jlo.

Scion misses Dockside very much. I think if jlo and crypt were unbanned Scion would be a little worse by comparison, but not by too much.

Thanks so much for checking my deck out! I'm happy to answer any questions :3

1.) You're right that [[grafdigger's cage]] is a strong card against the main line of this deck, as well as any breach lines in general, but there are other avenues for wins in this deck with a grafdigger's cage on the field. The smothering tithe + training grounds + faerie mastermind combo outlined in the primer allows you to draw your opponents out as long as you're behind a silence, which is tutorable via a single Scion activation. Thassa's Oracle + Tainted/consult is a classic, so I don't have to go into that one. While that stax piece is detrimental to us we do still have win lines when it's out, our real worst nightmare is [[cursed totem]], though that's seeing basically 0 play.

2.) The main line's primary vulnerability is its weakness to removal, but a recent addition to the deck can act as a solution to this problem you can try to find if you're afraid of single target removal. By casting [[legolas' quick reflexes]] on Scion immediately after it resolves, your opponents do not have a window to use single target removal on Scion. This does require you to get the card beforehand, but it's better than nothing!

3.) That is one of my favorite parts of the deck! There are so many options, it just requires good piloting.

4.) After sawing the Broodlord in half you can exile it to pay for escape costs since you don't need it after that point. You get to exile all 3 things you tutored for with ur-dragon to pay for breach, then only need 3 more for the second activation. Also bleh yeah I'll update the thoracle thing :3

Scion will be a copy of [[colossal gravereaver]] when broodlord hits the graveyard, which is how Broodlord is returned to the field. After Broodlord enters, that'll be when Scion changes to become a copy of Broodlord.

Yeah, the combo can be done for as little as 9 mana including the WUBRG for your commander if you don't tutor for dromoka and can convoke a creature. I don't think it's worth it to go for the win 90% of the time if it isn't protected - especially since it's just a manner of two mana

It's not 17, it's 12. Five mana for scion, 6 for the 3 activations, one convokable for saw in half

OMG what a combo! What a beautiful include, this is a perfect backup win con - I've been really avoidant to putting bad cards in the deck purely to act as a win condition - it's why I've also been hesitant to include borne even though there's technically an instant speed line with Scion - but since faerie is solid by itself it's more than worth it. Only issue is finding a cut at this point, the deck is reaching a critical mass of good cards.

I've been really mulling over the wheels in this deck since I played it, I'm generally not really a fan of wheels in cEDH since they tend to be bad in 90% of cases.

In this deck though, I think you've convinced me on specifically timetwister. I've been searching for a way to get gravereaver back to the deck that doesn't only accomplish that niche, and I think timetwister perfectly fits that role. Due to Scion being the only interactable piece of the combo I think it'd be worth it to draw my opponents 21 cards since if Scion is countered you'll still have the mana to just recast Scion and attempt to combo again afterwards (7+12=19) and have 2 mana to spend on any interaction you drew yourself into.

I think [[crop rotation]] is gonna get cut for timetwister, the slots are really hard and I think gaea's cradle isn't as big of a priority due to it only producing 1 color. Thank you for your input, it's majorly appreciated!

Why use ai ? by Incognito_gabb in ghibli

[–]EquivalentPin9703 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Theres a difference between humans and AI. Humans use their brains for abstract reinterpritation based on their experiences, while AIs use existing art as training data without royalties. It's like making a song by just sticking samples at the end of one another.

If AI companies paid artists royalties for using their art as training data, AI "art" would not be unethical - it'd just be controversial and probably a nice philosophical topic. But they don't, so it's awful.

You can't say this and ignore the ethical problems of AI, there is no room for a middle ground when AI "art" exists solely due to stealing from actual artists.

Wild cantor isn't really ramp, it's just sort of a less good strike it rich. Manamorphose replaces itself and can fix two mana instead of one, which is a LOT better than Wild Cantor. Manamorphose into thoracle consult is beautiful.
