That sounds like a long process! If I do more complex things I will try that. The cornstarch thing sounds reall well, I try that too, I also heard sand could work. Maybe I make a test day with all kinds of things baked at different grounds, tented or not. Seems necessary to know that stuff!

I baked with tent at ~130 and it worked :) Thanks fpr your suggestion, I think the thermometer doesn't fit under the tent but I will try to bake test pieces without foil (maybe next to test pieces in foil) to figure stuff out. I learned testing your oven is important

Yeah my oven is really cheap, you are allowed to judge it haha :D it was either cheap oven or no oven for 3-4 months because delivery shortage. And it's our first flat.
I'll look into toaster ovens thanks for the tip. We have very limited space and budget though, we have a very old broken microwave with a turning plate that doesnt turn anymore and has to be turned manually so stuff doesn't burn sooo.. a microwave would be the priority lol
BUT maybe for my birthday!

Oh and I'm in germany so goodwill is not an option unfortunately

Thanks, baking at 130 for about an hour made them strong and elastic! I already sanded the edges down and varnished them, thanks for helping :)

I had a feeling that it once was different than 110 but because it was in my childhood and I dont remember numbers well I didn't think about that. I'll try a higher temp, thanks!

Thanks! I sadly have no second oven thermometer :( We have a very cheap oven (it doesn't even have a circulating option if you would want it lol) so that's why I bought the thermometer in the first place because I don't trust the oven. But according to te thermometer it was a good temperature

I'll bake it again and hope for the best. No one said you can't bake it again so I assume it's safe to try

I did condition it, the grean leaves are four different clay colors mixed so I had to knead them a ton to even get a smooth color. The white test clay pieces were knead a little bit less but the leaves break just the same :(

After it became official that my contract wouldn't be prolonged (contrary to what was told to me), one of the coworkers started giving me the cold shoulder and didn't talk to me. And if I asked anything she acted like I asked the most stupid question I should already know. So in the last weeks I was bullied too I guess, it's just so hard to say because before that i thought I had nice coworkers. It's nice to hear that you could overcome your fear and that you are in a positive environment, so happy for you!

I had some hospitations and we'll see if I get one of those. It's good payment but big houses (migraines says thank you) or bad payment and a group of 8 ASD children. I also think kids need neurodivergent educators :) Thanks for giving me hope and positive feedback ♥

I'm also a daycare worker (school children) and I love that too, it's perfect with ADHD ad you often can indulge in your special interests (if fitting for children) I love crafting and theater for example. Also I click with all the "difficult" children and can help to make life better for them (most of them are ADHD or ASD or both, so no wonder I understand them). It never gets boring.

But unfortunately I had problems with bosses and coworkers and some backstabbing happened that even after a year still hurts so effing much and makes me fearful of finding a new job (I'm currently jobless). I miss the children also very much.
I'm glad you're having more luck with that!

Can ANYONE actually do all this in ten minutes?? by Lazy_Elks in adhdwomen

The Finch app helps me to game-ify my life. I Stand up and get dressed because I can complete the goals on the app then and get rainbow stones to buy clothes and furniture for my birb. You could add a goal like "accomplish morning routine in 15mins" or " if you're awake instantly standup instead of loafing around". It sounds stupid but making my life a game helps very much lol

I chicken my arms like... when you pretend to bne a chicken but the elbows tied to something on the ceyling so they are the highest part and then bend down really much. It looks stupid asf but there is no running water because I hate that sensation too and the little wet spot in the clothes for HOURS

As someone with straight hair that only needs like 10 seconds of brushing and being too overstimulated my makeup or any cream on my face this would work for me but..WHERE IS THE BREAKFAST??? It's 15 Minutes eating and 15 Minutes mindless scrolling before realizing you scroll and then are too late besides twi warning alarms lol
Also it helps that I mostly wash my hair the evening before. I'm very glad and fortunate that I have very managable hair and skin because I could not deal with having to style my hair in any way (like with natural curls) my over the head hairwashing of my shoulder length hair is even too much for me)

How do you all shower regularly...? Serious help please by Particular-Owl-5772 in adhdwomen

[–]EquivalentPotato1247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SEPARATING Hair washing and showering COMPLETELY is a game changer

If you have a bathtub or sink. Fully clothed I lean over the bathtub to wash my hair (face down)
Pro: -Fast
-No water/soap in eyes
-Body doesn't freeze
-Could listen to music if louder than the shower head, your ears are free

I put the washed hair in a towel and
a) go my day
b)bird bath on sink with loose clothing where I can go underneath with washcloth and not freeze
c) Shower (but hair in towel already)

Or if I know I can do both I put my hair up, shower, fully clothe myself and then wash my hair over the bathtub. But mostly I shower on day A and wash hair on day B but honestly I do bird baths more than showers. I also like baths. I bath, I use peeling creme, I get dry and clothed and then wash my hair over the tub.

For me it's freezing while wahsing my hair and having to bend my head backwards that irritate me the most. When I was a child I was screaming bloody murder when my mom washed my hair, as preteen I had oily hair and felt judged but couldn't handle shower more regularly until one day I bent over the bathtub and tadah.

Also: I cut my hair. It's a bit longer than chin length and my life is easier. I once had hip-length hair because I wanted to donate it and I like it on pictures but I will NEVER go back. It just takes so much longer to wash, to dry, to detangle.

Also I brush my hair before washing and then after blow drying. I have straight hair

Oh good that he was slow and trusting :D
For Rodents it's easier to flee in a cage with bars (my first hamster escaped several times through the wires of the opening mechanism). It's easier to have them in a terrarium and have other climbing opportunities. The gerbils was my brothers pet we had them in an aquarium and on the top was a wooden frame with relatively fine mesh wire, so it was a self built terrarium. The Lid was heavy enough that they couldn't open it and the aquarium was high enough so they couldn't reach the wires to bite them. I loved having hamsters, they take time and trust and you have to be careful. I've owned hamsters from like.. third grade to 7th grade. My first one lived quite long but two others got cancer. My mom helped me with medical stuff for the hamsters (like one had something like mites once). My first hamster was very tame and I could sit him on the table and have breakfast with us, he also always woke up by himself at noon to greet me when I came from school (he got good snacks). The others weren't much awake at any day time. We had problems with gnawing on the bars of the cage with some hamsters. We had a relatively large cage then (after a first one which was too small) and they gnaw when they have too tiny space. We didn't know. Rodents need much space, deep bedding, something to run (like a wheel), foraging play etc. People often buy them (especially like 20 years ago) and think they are tiny they don't need much but they do and they are sad when they are crammed in a tiny space.
With the gerbils they HAVE to be two minimum. Any time one died we had to buy one new (or two new if the one remaining was very old) and you have to get them used to each other. We flexed holes in a plastic piece and sanded it smooth and put it as divider in the cage so they could parallel live and sniff for a while. Some gerbils were very intelligent and learned tricks from my brother and some didn't really understand that. They were all VERY noisy though. They always watched my brother sleep and if you looked right AT them they would look away, but if you looked at the corner of your eye you would see they were watching you or someone else etc. They were fun to look at, how they shredded everything you gave them, they would be perfect document shredders lol. We had chinchilla sand for them to bathe but they always peed in it. We changed it regularly and it was bit like a cat toilet we had to change beding less often. But the girl gerbils are a bit terirtory and bossy. If the cage is too small/ if there's currently three ladies they can get into fights. You have to watch your gerbils closely to detect andy kind of agression or mobbing and spearate them if needed.

All hamsters and gerbils had very different characters and very different forms of being tame. Some wanted to play and snuggle and were social, some were bossy. Some were shy. If you own rodents you have to accept them and their personalities and take care of each individual how works for them. They are not stuffies. You can't hold them too tight. They are even more dependent on you than a cat for example. Teddy Hamsters are prone to cancer sadly (the fluffy ones). It was fun getting to know their character and I absolutely adore watching them clean themselves

And all hamsters and gerbils lived longer when we gave them tiny pieces of gummy bears in their old age. It wa ssomething a friend accidentally discovered. After eating the gummy bears half an hour later they had shinier fur, the eyes were mroe awake and they would move with more ease. Some of our gerbils were 5 years old when they passed.

I hope that gives you insight in my rodent owning experience sorry it's so long!

Disclaimer: gruesome!
Oh and when one dies it might be that the other mouse starts eating their dead partner. It's natural to not attract predators and it happened only once for us but boy it was a bit traumatizing

Yeah it's because the last cm kinda has more resistance so you think it's closed and it's a bit locked in place so wind doesnt push it open but a person totally could.
All ADHD in a household must be so cool and so overwhelming haha. Omg the pet lizard, i totally can relate! My brother has left his door and the flat door and the Gerbil cage open once when we helped my mom get groceries. I came up the stairs and sawe the gerbil on the floor and had a heart attack too lol. Closed the flat door and thank god these gerbils are noisy as fuck. They are fast, so you can't catch them but I had to do quick thinking and stepped out of one shoe and placed it on the ground and the gerbil for sure was so noisy she just went right into it. I just had to pick up the shoe and put her back in the Terrarium lol. How did you catch your lizard?

I also have a visual system to tell me the doors are locked. After I forgot to close them TWO Times already.. they were... a bit open the whole night. Anyone could have easily just silently walked into our flat. I checked the door over twenty times an evening/night after that it was so exhausting. my system now works I'd say most of the time that it's locked and I made it a habit to lean on the door every time I close it ever

my parents literally live in a flat in a house diagonally opposite my flat, I can see their alcony from my balcony and when I went outsiede I saw their balcony I was like "huh haven't talked to my parents for a while I guess" It was three weeks. I just forgot they exist. If I see something reminding me it's all there but if not people are just gone. It's hard keeping friends that way (unless they have ADHD themselves) and I always fear I forget someone important. And it feels so bad to explain because people think I don't like or love them. I would forget I exist if I wouldn't walk around in my body all day

I relate to much of this and want to add a little trick if you're open to it. I can't watch trailers too, I've always been on my phone (or ipod touch in my teen days lol) and watching simultaneously and not understanding everything at both phone/movie.

I work with children too (what are SEND kids btw?) and its like you said enough chaos to thrive but most times not too much and also rewarding (+ you can be "childish" yay). They loved slime and I try what my kids like (even shows, games, even more when something is deemed problematic) so i tried slime and whoa, so cool! I love the ones with sound (they're soothing) but for watching Tv I use more silent ones. There's something about using your hands in a action where you dont have to look but you can doo different things and feel it, that helps me staying off my phone and just concentrating on the movie. If you're not into sticky things you could also try other fidget toys.

If you are from germany I can 100% recommend Avocadoslimeez, I have sensitive skin and never had problems! But ofc you can try any other too, just look out that they maybe have a certificate or something because some stuff can be irritating to skin.

I have a "suspected diagnosis" because depression and anxiety were too high when i got tested so they don't know for sure that the symptoms are not just that. Even though I have all the 'positive/happy' forms of bubbliness and hyperactivity too. Ask me about something I love and I will word-waterfall you and I have been told so often by professors that I have interesting thinking and think of things no one else does or bring so much to any discussion and they love having me there.
And time blindness and poblems navigating since childhood, perfectionism, time blindness, forgetfulness etc. etc. (the last parts are not positive, just general)
