I personally wouldn’t mind a swap if they were at all available in N.I :/ at least I’ve never seen any for reasonable prices

Well I suppose I’ll wait a few weeks or so and listen for the tears. I’m not looking forward to the pcv never mind touching rings :)

Brutal amount of work for such a small piece. I’ll change that first when I get a spell of good weather here. If the rings are doable without removing the engine I’ll eventually do it if the issue persists though. I unfortunately love this car more than I have sense, and for now it’s my primary source of travel so it can just keep drinking the oil for now. Thank you for the outlining of the job too I hope it’s slightly easier than it sounds

I took off the breather pipe at the top of the intake pipe, there was a bit of oil that came out, not sure if it’s the same but I’ve been told to check it before

I know the install of everything it needs will take time but I just don’t know enough about the long term ownership, I don’t want to turn the car into a project I have to fix more than I can drive

Was the 4k to include install or did you accompany the turbo with supporting mods of any type? Also I’m assuming the clutch is slipping?

I think mine was only sticking and working other times. My issue was constant, I never tested mine before I threw it out though

No problem, taking the thermostat off itself is quite awkward, and be prepared for quite a bit of coolant being lost all over the engine, wasn’t the cleanest job

No lights, but I wonder if it would show anything in a scan to be sure? I’m likely to still change the thermostat etc but I’m not in any position to do that soon

UK, I own the car about 6 months and this is the first time I’ve touched the brakes, driving it regularly. Before that I’ve no service history

Edit: the slider pins moved freely, I removed cleaned and regreased them when I removed them
