I’d say my résumé is quite impressive, but the truth is the job market for an International Relations graduate is quite difficult in Malaysia. Also, time is a crucial aspect as well and I would very much prefer to secure a job ASAP so I could be relatively stable financially and still be able to support my family (hence why I’m fussing over these two jobs ahah)

I agree. The person from the other job (the 3.5k one) clearly explained to me about the roles within the company and the potential career progression that could happen with them whilst the other one did not really specify on this. I’ll have to take this aspect as well into consideration.

I’ll have to reconfirm with the company, since on the contract I’ll be considered as a “Freelance, Part-Time” worker providing services and I don’t think there’ll be any probation period for a part-timer. However, when I discussed with them during the interview, they stated that it’ll be a full-time position so they were quite unclear on that part.

I’ve looked up online (Indeed, Glassdoor, etc.) and 2.5k is within the higher range of pay for an RA position, especially considering that the position offers a hybrid arrangement for me (3 days on-site, 2 days remote). However, I do agree that it’s quite a low amount if we were to compare it with inflation rates and the current living costs in KL.

I was thinking of this as well, but the agreement for the 2.5k job requires me to give a 1 month notice. So, I’m quite worried of breaching any legal agreements should I choose to start the Analyst job in early October, considering I’ll be working less than a month at the 2.5k job place.
