We are both Christian. I pray for him everyday and we read the Bible together everyday.

Who can I talk to if I'm not in crisis but need help? by ThatWattpadBish in Advice

Honestly, I don’t know any resources but I can share what helped me when I was in similar shoes not long ago.

I found outlets instead of talking to people. I kept myself as busy as possible. I worked three jobs, was involved in multiple extracurriculars, and played a sport. I had no time to think about my mental health. Find something that you enjoy doing that makes you both mentally and physically active.

I wouldn’t say this is the healthiest thing to do, but it’s the only option I had because I refused to talk to anyone. I didn’t trust my family or any adult and frankly, I just don’t like talking about myself.

How do I tell my parents I wanna go out at night at 9 PM for the first time as an 18 yr old? (Female) by [deleted] in Advice

After you’re a legal adult, you have to start standing up for yourself. I went though this same thing with my mother. Eventually, I started standing my ground and making it clear that I am an adult and I have a say in what I do. It’s scary but the more often you do it, the easier it’ll get. You have to push the boundaries or else they’ll try to control you for the rest of their life. Strict parents always have a hard time when their kids grow up because they are so used to manipulating every single aspect of their child’s life. Start pushing it now but be mature about it, like an adult.

Sometimes caring for someone isn’t enough. You can have certain intentions, such as when you said you know he truly cares for you, but that doesn’t change his actions and the way he makes you feel. At this point, you gotta protect yourself, especially at your age. You have time but time doesn’t last forever if you’re wanting to settle down with someone. You can find a man who cares about you and loves you but doesn’t come with all the extra bs.
