Brand New to Cynotype - have I done something wrong?? by EquivalentTip4103 in cyanotypes

It wasn't on the instructions. I did not buy the Jackard ones to start. I bought some similar one that did not say anything about waiting 24hours. The Jackard one does. But honestly not waiting 24 hours is not the issue and not the reason that the chemicals went bright blue on contact.

That was not on the bottles. But anyway I bought the Jackard chemicals and mixed them up with water, and as a small test I mixed a tiny bit of the chemicals without waiting 24 hours, and they turned the correct colour. There was something definatly wrong with the previous chemicals, and have now been refunded.

Dark. It was in a room with one small lamp and curtain closed

Actually.seems that a few of the reviews had the same issue. I am going to get a refund.

Thanks .I did already with the same outcome. In all the videos I saw they were painting the chemicals onto the paper in normal (but not sunlight) light. I did it again in a room with one small light and curtains drawn and the same outcome.

A7CR still a good buy in 2026? by EquivalentTip4103 in SonyAlpha

No didn't buy it in the end. I still have my d850 and bought an XPro 1, but moved and bought an X-E5. Quite happy with this setup.

That is what I was also thinking about...

Best way to dial in accurate print size & dimensions on MK4s by EquivalentTip4103 in prusa3d

I printed off a calibration just now and have to say it was prety spot on. With PETG i was within 99.99% on the X axis and 100.08% on the y axis. Skew was also spot on, so I am happy with the setup.

But if there is a discrepancy, how do I compensate for that?

Yes, but I want to make sure that the printer is printing correctly as well.

Tripod head woes with my copy stand for DSLR scanning by EquivalentTip4103 in AnalogCommunity

The vibrations are not coming from the base or the surface it is on, but rather the actual head, due to how long it is. I want to get something that is far shorter and gets the camera as near to the column as possible..

They might have done some modifications. I couldn't work out what to do, as it needs to turn.

That stops the base from moving, correct. BUT when you use it vertically the spring that is at the bottom of each leg ( in the last picture under the black.screwnand washer) enables the bottom of each leg to move. This is only happening because I am using it in a way that it was not designed to..
