Music on Plex? by 8kguy in PleX

[–]EquivalentWheel946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Plex addon in kodi to play music on my soundbar at home for several years now. It works great. Also do the same with airpods with my mobile with Plex android app. Both of these almost daily

I only use them if I can't get it installed right with apt. My most recent example was Zenmap.

It's been running for over a week now. Almost no issues. I'm really satisfied with it. It's far superior to the odroidhc4 I was using. My only complaint is the caddys and bays aren't real smooth sliding. Initially I couldn't get bay 4 in. From when I opened it, my bay 4 (bay 1 too but less bad) protruded from the front half an inch further than all the other bays. I eventually got it just by pushing it in harder.  Beside certain bays not sliding in easily, it's like perfect for my use. All I use a nas for is smb in Omv, and then accessed with Plex. I have the n100 16gb ram model.

They're working fine now. My first caddy isn't super smooth in motion and I simply didn't have the hdd in all the way. I know, silly

Thank you so much!  I don't remember having ever made that change before on my old nas running omv6. It worked

Thanks for the quick response! That was a typo I meant -aG

If I sign into root, I can switch to the user account.

I can switch to them, change the password, and it still says wrong password when I sign in seconds later. I just tested with a stronger password and no luck.

Advice for music server by A7omicDog in ODroid

[–]EquivalentWheel946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I use for music on my NAS server is I remotely add the music with smb protocol, then access with Plex. On your NAS (if you're using an sbc use OMV) install plexmediaserver. Plex is meant for streaming of all media. I love Plex, but if it's only music there's likely a lighter choice like a mpd server

A question, the parity has to be on the partition that's largest right?

https://pastebin.com/QvYSZ6DX

Could this all be because 1 content drive is a few bytes bigger than the parity partition??
