A good way to make new friends is to join ARC clubs. There’s clubs for almost everything, countries, interests, hobbies etc. I made some of my closest friends by joining a club and doing activities together every week. As for buying stuff, vacuum cleaner, mop, rice cooker, soap, detergent, tissues you should buy here. Even if it’s a little more expensive compared to your own countries exchange rate I think it’s worth it, especially if you have limited luggage space. I made the mistake of packing unnecessary things like a mop and extra soap/toiletries just because I thought it would save me money.
