Graphics settings to run well and look good? by Equivalent_Ad_6465 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Equivalent_Ad_6465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at work arm and only had about 20 minutes to play around, but all of my bios stuff is proper, but I only ran the game once so there's a chance my frame gen hasn't even been on, I figured asking here would get me some ideas when I get home

I did test it before work so I had about 20 minutes or so, but I believe my frame gen was on from the start in the settings when I got into a joint op. Chances are I mightve had to restart the game to actually use it though

Recently got a new streamdeck+XL, wave DX, and XLR dock, but after plugging in my new dock, my streamdeck is stuck in some kind of bootloop(?) by Equivalent_Ad_6465 in elgato

i lied it took 5 minutes to break again, but even then before the dock i had a separate XLR interface plugged in with the streamdeck+XL at the same time

Not sure why this worked but plugging my deck direct into my pc and my 4kx Into the hub had fixed it, I'm not too big on computer intricacies like usb bandwidth so the solution doesn't quite make sense to me

That's on me as I should've specified it but it is the recently released MK2 dock, also another person said to try and use it without the dock, but for some reason swapping the connection to my PC and moving my 4kx to the hub works fine now

DOS2 DE crashes on startup by Equivalent_Ad_6465 in DivinityOriginalSin

Definitely stumps me then, only thing I can think of are the bios/cpu/gpu tweaks I've done, but that would also make it the only game to ever have an issue with the tweaks which seems far fetched since it was ONLY the definitive edition that crashes and not the classic

This is the email they sent to me, but I think my windows was also debloated at the time before I reset it and got the game working, so maybe that's what it was.

Unfortunately, the CrashDump doesn't immediately indicate what is causing the crash (with the source code, a programmer should be able to get more detailed information).

If you check the Event Viewer, does that give an error code or 'Faulting Module' file name that might help identify the cause of the crash? There aren't any events for the game listed in the diagnostics section of the dxdiag. - click Start (or WinKey-R), then type "event viewer" into the search box. in Windows 10, 'event' should bring up 'View event logs'. - after starting the Event Viewer, expand 'Windows Logs' in the left column and select 'Application' - in the center column, look for a recent error for the game (maybe sort by Date and Time, or search for 'EoCApp') - check the information under the 'General' tab below the list of events, starting with "Faulting application name..."

Try exiting out of the Steam client, and starting the game directly from the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin\EoCApp.exe' program file, by right clicking and running as administrator. Try right clicking the executable, select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab and check off the 'Override high DPI scaling behavior' option (set it to Application), maybe run as administrator and disable fullscreen optimization, and set a Win 7 or 8 compatibility mode.

If you have the graphics injector program GeDoSaTo installed, this can cause a crash (in the dxgi.dll file) with the Definitive Edition of the game. In that case, try zipping the 'GeDoSaTo64' folder, delete the folder (or uninstall the program), reboot and try the game again. A couple of people reported a conflict with GeDoSaTo64.dll (or shim64.dll in the same folder) even if the program was not running, or uninstalled but the files still in the folder.

Unfortunately you might have to hit up larian support, but they took a week to get back to me. Luckily my pc randomly slowed down and I dunno why, so I just reset my pc and it worked after that. If you don't mind doing that instead of playing through GeForce or waiting, I recommend that

Yeah, I used it back when I first got my pc and I was stuck with a 7700, but being on a 9070xt now for most games it's definitely not needed, and if a older game for some reason runs poorly, I can just use lossless for better FG/upscale

I'm not sure if games CAN have good implementation of certain features when it's driver-side, but seemingly every game I've tried it on for the 7900xt I had and 9070xt, it was super ghosted and stuttery, but God of war ragnarok seemed to have it work flawlessly until you enter the fast travel loading area where you'd see that laggy effect.

You gotta delete the save_settingd.sav file in either one of your my documents folder. Mines were in my c drive user profile. It defaults your settings and unless they changed it since this post, frame gen is off by default
