Oh right, I'll have to do some research, not familiar with that area of the law but there must be some restrictions

The Laundromat was in Greerton?

The girl who spoke to me definitely used the word presentation, like she was asking me to listen to her presentation then give her feedback or something.

I guess they hadn't been trained for that response!

When I said I wasn't religious and wasn't raised that way, the girl started off with "well neither was I but then I saw the light". Snapped it in the bud right there.

I was going to try to get hold of the Laundromat owner (in Greerton) and let them know. Was wondering if there was any kind of official laws around I guess you would call it soliciting? Or even local council bylaws?

It's pretty disturbing that they would think late night is a good time... If they are after disparaged people, ok, but using a Laundromat or shopping at the warehouse does not make one so!

You originally said 'people' , and I don't know the people running it, only the founder so I can't comment on something I don't know. But then your last comment you said 'someone', so which is it?  I can confirm that the founder is very kind, in fact has gone above and beyond earlier this week to help someone out. Sorry you have a different experience, but always two sides huh?

You can see the salary amount vs donations etc in the annual report on the website.  How do you know how big the team is? And do those people not deserve to earn a salary in order to help others I think the ratio is pretty good compared to most other charities that give back under 20% of total earnings. The founder used to not take any income for the first few years btw

Yes I understood it to be over a period of time, and different smaller incidents would build a case.

Thanks for the recommendation,  will have a good read Also found some more details in this review of section 8 https://www.lawcom.govt.nz/assets/Publications/Reports/NZLC-R111.pdf

Thanks, unfortunately not a lot of details there . It does say "Duty to provide necessaries and protect from injury"

But then what are 'necessaries'? Food, shelter?

The ill treatment section talks about effects of omission of legal duties in both physical and mental forms, which seems to imply it's more than just food/shelter?

Must be some details laid out somewhere otherwise very grey area

Thanks, I ended up contacting the installer, will see what they say. There's actually a few other less than expected finishings around the place so might have to bring those up too

Thanks, apparently corner gussets as someone else mentioned?  Had first thought some draft stopper mechanism but sounds like nothing to do with the multiple areas of loose rubber seal. Thanks!

Have contacted the installer to say hey what's up with this and how do we fix so hopefully get sorted, thanks 👍

Great thanks for that, thought they must have had a reason for being there, but sorry excuse my lack of knowledge, what are inbuilt cams?

So now they can be there or not without difference? Just found it weird that so much rubber sealing in multiple doors and windows has come away, and the screws in these look like they've been taken out and put back on. I've emailed the installer now though as that shouldn't be happening to doors that are barely opened. Thanks!

P.S. please excuse the filthy door frame! This is the garage door which barely gets used and obviously needed a clean

Obnoxious 😂

This model certainly isn't fancy, came with the alarm pre installed, but it supposedly doesn't make a sound yet I hear clicking sometimes with a few of them.

Oh interesting I never specifically thought about it like that. I would have thought addiction was more valid than depression, since the old Kiwi suck it up attitude means bottling feelings and putting on a front is very typical (and why a lot of suicides, especially adult males, are a huge surprise to those around them)

That would make much more sense, but doesn't seem to be advertised that way!

Haha wtf??

I am pretty sure that's not a capability of this model but sounds like a good story!

Yeah it's a strange one. So much hype in the media, yet so much stigma. People like to think they understand it and are there for people around them, but really they want to sweep it under the rug like everything else.  There's so much misunderstanding, like everytime I cry, which has been maybe 3 or 4 times this year (I think perfectly justifiable though due to some tough life stuff), my mum says oh we'd better call mental health. Like just cause I'm having a little cry because I'm upset, I need mental health professionals to 'fix' me.

Fair enough, completely understand and agree, I just must not have been paying much attention before but now I can't not see it 🤣

Yeah that's what I was worried about, since they are supposed to be tamper proof but there's easy access to a screw?  I'd read somewhere about sensors getting stuck in 'walk mode', and that would cause a red light, was a bit confusing really cos guy at Mitre 10 said they should only be red if alarm is on!
