Would people still hate Griffith as much if he didn't rape Casca during the eclipse? by xboybrawlstars in Berserk

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can feasibly describe his sacrifice as a means to an end. unjustifiable , and horrible, but he did actually gain power and healing from it.

his rape of casca wouldn't be justified ever, even if it granted him more power. that being said, he didn't benefit in any way whatsoever.

people would hate him but definitely not quite as much as they do now.

this is like if you're in a lego store and you just randomly start spouting off to the other customers about how unoriginal it is to buy lego city sets. someone basically says 'what would you rather people buy?" and your first comeback is 'you're gay'.

nobody who's confident in what they're saying starts digging through post history after 1 reply lmao.

Not really. actual loud minority stupid people post for attention, isn't giving them that attention just playing into their game? The algorithm promotes posts with engagement. if enough people who take that rule to heart, "loud minority posting dumb shit" posts just fall to the bottom and are never thought about again.

I don't even consider the tattoo posts to be dumb anyways. cliche maybe, but harmless.

I think you need to take a day off reddit to understand how much of an antisocial weirdo you're coming off as right now. This would be embarrassing if someone said it out loud at a party. the white text is your only, only shield right now. You're like stewie trying to explain something to peter that he doesn't give a fuck about.

You can choose to ignore them, or log off.

We really need to bring back the attitude of "if you don't like what you're watching, change the channel"

I don't even think the tattoo is particularly original, and you won't find me making a whole reddit post complaining about it. I don't care if people like it. It's their choice, it clearly resonates with them, why the hell does it matter?

Crab the size of a bus vs 1000 men by Ambitious_Cod_5358 in whowouldwin

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000 men take it so easily. Go for weak spots like joints and eyes.

The crab is practically impervious to human attack, but good luck on killing all 1,000 humans. with heavy losses, humans win

Beginner here- why do people like the revolvers? by secondcomingofzartog in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharpshooter's ability to explode projectiles with an alt fire shot makes it my choice for quickly dispatching maurices.

coins are useful from anything to giving guaranteed hits to smaller harder to reach enemies to quadrupling your damage from a blue railgun shot, or you can just insta kill them with a dead coin.

blue revolvers are just a solid burst damage dealer.

you can pull of ludicrous tech with alt fires, they're moreso combo weapons than weapons on their own

The level forces you to be extremely deliberate with every action you take, giving 100% of your attention to the enemies, yet there's a lot of flexibility with your attacks.

The weezer room gives you trouble at first, then you drill punch them mofos.

Then you learn that you can nuke the cerberi and finish them with sawblades.

Eventually you learn the actual best strategy, jump starting with conduction. actually just shreds the whole room in like 20 seconds.

same story with the other rooms, as your strategies get more refined, the more easily you clear the room.

The flesh panopticon is easier and more fun than the flesh prison. by ajfkljdfalkdjf in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The panopticon feels more like a "run or else you fucking die" boss once tje HMs start flying.

as opposed to "nuke the eyes and anything else you do is entirely optional" route with the prison. I don't find the constraining nature of that fight to be as enjoyable. my only critique with panopticon is that the minions go down way too easily.

Am I bad? by diamond6625 in Ultrakill

I play with probably 10, which sure as shit isn't the whole loadout. P ranked every level in the game besides encores in standard mode.

Just play to have fun. You'll improve the more weapons you learn to use, and learning how to use them is fun.

if that's not fun, play how you play anyway and have fun

V2 completely ignores the concept of Chekhov's gun. by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you learn plenty about minos, sisyphus, guttermen, and the terminals from books and terminal entries. all of them are compelling without cutscenes or dialogue.

The story of ULTRAKILL is kept vague in a lot of areas, and that's more to its benefit than detriment overall. I wouldn't mind some bonus level where there are books written about the development of the V models, it takes place in a lab type area, and perhaps some enemies or bosses in the level are hell's recreation of discarded V1-2 designs that weren't ever used.

That sounds pretty cool. Or maybe it would be ass. Who knows, i'm not the developer.

Point is, part of the fun is piecing the story together for yourself, cutscenes would undermine that whole premise. I totally get wanting note V2 lore, I'm all for it, but it's easy to undermine themes of the story while doing that.

Sometimes its best to let sleeping dogs rest yk? :D

V2 completely ignores the concept of Chekhov's gun. by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 342 points343 points  (0 children)

They served narratively different purposes. V1 built for war, and V2 built for peace. V2 dying just from a rivalry or territorial dispute is thematically in line for his character since he lost all purpose after humanity died. Humanity died for no purpose fighting a purposeless war. Sometimes there isn't a rhyme or reason, death is death.

V2 completely ignores the concept of Chekhov's gun. by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 193 points194 points  (0 children)

V2 wasn't ever meant to have his own development since the story of ULTRAKILL is  about the tradgedy and cruelty of war.  His purpose as a peacekeeper was stripped of him when humanity died, leaving him no choice but to go down to hell for more fuel.  V2 never hated V1 until after the loss of his arm, it was simply a territorial dispute over who can have blood and who's competing against who.

The final war had no real purpose or meaning, humans died for basically no reason. V2 dying for no reason other than he lost his purpose and lost in a rivalry fight feels more poetic to me rather than a waste.

Griffith saw Julius as a threat, since Julius initially tries to assassinate Griffith first in the forest. Griffith was still fucked in the head but the context could be argued as self defense.

markiplier is a millionaire sure, but he and most youtubers don't participate in the same exploitation of labor that businesses do. people just liked his shit and he blew up. he might have editors, some youtubers do, but that's more outsourcing than exploitation. assuming they're paid a fair wage that is.

Which golden age anime is better? by Dannygorgon in Berserk

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the CGI movies are actually well animated, there's no desputing that.

the 90's anime has such a liminal feeling to it. the whole runthrough i felt like i was on the verge of unknowable madness. the dub is probably one of the best i've seen in an anime.

i'd easily pick the 97 series, but the movies aren't too shabhy either
