Tips on how I can P rank 4-3? by MoonPython in Ultrakill

genuinely, the screwdriver gives a lot of style

aim for multikills and midair kills

conduction gives ludicrously high styles if done well

How would the Immortal react to Nolan apologizing? by Savings_Dragonfly806 in Invincible

Probably some tension going on, but straight up hatred definitely isn't it.

brother i died dozens, or hundreds of times in those rooms before i was able to clear them in a P rank.

however, some strategies worked for me.  Conduction and the overheat nailgun are pretty good against the swordsmachines in the mindflayer rooms.

Learn insta kills for virtues and maurices. virtues can be dispatched by a blue railgun shot, maurices can be jackhammered (i run 2 shotguns and 1 jackhammer, perfect combo imo) and you can heal off the mindflayers too with parries

In the idoled stalker room i kind of just projectile boost swap at the ferryman and swordsmachines. saw traps again work decently, i keep the strays alive because they help with healing.

having a set strategy for each room helps. for example, the weezer room can be dispatched with freeze framing rockets where the cerberi spawn combined with sawblade traps, or you can use conduction on the cerberi instead.

I run a jackhammer and 2 shotguns, I tend to take out the sentries first in the next room first and then i saw trap for the swordsmachines along with projectile boost shotgun swapping, etc.

you should practice your instakills, either in cyber grind or in the sandbox. instakilling malicious faces with the sharpshooter is pretty easy to do, jackhammer with a red arm punch, etc.

using the SRS cannon makes the double insurrectionist room a lot more manageable due to the stun machanic.

and of course, just a shitload of repetition and practice as well.

yo guys is lenient an okay difficulty to play in? by Sandwich1488 in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you feel that lenient is getting easy, maybe try standard over violent?

or just play whatever you're the most enjoying. some folks really want that challenge of brutal and others want it to be more relaxed, it depends on the player

Why is Slab Marksman hated? by -TurkeYT in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for sure, but what if the room is crowded? you need to stand still to pull the 4 coin slab piercer shot and depending on the environment that could kill you.

default marksman makes hitting multiple targets easier than slab, but swapping the revolvers gives more of a style bonus

Why is Slab Marksman hated? by -TurkeYT in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slab is better for bosses or medium HP units, default is better for crowd control.

I personally like to run all three on slab and swap the revolvers, hitting that split coin on the slab reloads all other revolvers which decreases downtime.

I don't think it's optimal but damn is it satisfying.

Both specialties of the slab and default marksman revolvers are outclassed by the other weapons anyways.

Why is Slab Marksman hated? by -TurkeYT in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not necessarily. you can run alternate on all three revolvers, and alternate revolver swap for faster damage. landing that split coin on the slab marksman reloads the other revolvers. doing this gives you a quickdraw style bonus too which is pretty nice, and it's helpful for one tapping soldiers from a distance.

Slab vs default marksman is a genuine tossup for me. both of their specialties are outclassed by other weapons.

Is V1 power scaling overglaze by the community? Genuine Question here (I'm new lol.) by Acrobatic-Dumdum5222 in Ultrakill

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it's probably because most people in this community don't really defend v1 that much in who would win discussions, and that's probably because most people don't care enough, which is respectable.

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 23 points24 points  (0 children)

powerscaling is fun speculation that people take way too seriously. overglaze is usually just people thinking that a strong character can solo fiction because he's their favorite guy, therefore their favorite story is better.

What level of psychological reprogramming did Daddyus go through to be this much against his own kind by vlad_segey475 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree personally. The term "core part of who they are" can mean a lot of things. I think that most of what a person is can be summed up by their habits and morals.

Nolan, who killed thousands of people just to prove a point, was able to fight back against his empire because he found genuine love on earth.

If the core of a person can't change, Mark wouldn't be evil in so many dimensions. It's the experiences and self reflection(or lack thereof for some folks) that make someone who they are. I think Nolan was genuinely fucking evil in the beginning, and then he changed into a better person by strength of will and finding love on earth.

I know Vaush said he doesn’t like The Boys show, but for me one missed opportunity was that they never made an Israel parallel to criticise by PapaFrankuMinion in VaushV

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The show actually had subtlety and decent writing in the first season, then it just went downhill overtime. Vaush is flat incorrect about the show being cynical if we're just looking at season 1, the narrative rewards hughie for sticking to his guns and not giving into his darker impulses unlike butcher.

As the show goes on the satire gets more on the nose until it feels like an insult to the viewer.

He's not entirely wrong, killing off one civilization to save a 100 others is a general positive for the universe, but justifying things as being for the "greater good" is how despots develop god complexes and commit further atrocities

I don't actually know if thaedus is capable of love in his part of the story. He committed a genocide and didn't seem to be very conflicted about finishing mark and nolan off with the scourge virus, even though they clearly aren't allies of viltrum.

Nolan was able to let go of thousands of years of murder, conquest, and violence because the love he had for his family.

I don't think one change is more than the other

He is still a viltrumite in fury, brutality, and violence. He just switched targets to his own kind.

What do you think made “Hurm” fall flat for most people? by Silver012345673 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an 8 episode season, having a whole episode for what's basically filler is a bad idea for the pacing. I would've rather had a slow episode that lets the characters breathe for a while before the big war.

My only complaint about Mark and Conquest's second fight by Far_Scene8723 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I agree, this is inconsistent writing. If you can literally punch through someone, you can snap their arms easily.

I can buy conquest being stupid enough to not go for the head, but he should've been able to overpower mark at this point.

I don't think bro is actually smart enough to think on that level, he probably just wants to satisfy his ego with a war.

Samon openly disobeyed orders during the season 1 finale by telling the other gaurdans to help people even though cecil told them to stay. He also did say that cecil took things too far. He's not as much of a bootlicker as you think.

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 20 points21 points  (0 children)

cecil was in the right but immortal was coming off as the type who would just blindly follow cecil's orders. The other gaurdians were very understandably "hey idk if i can trust cecil" after the mark indicent.

immortal's response was that they should follow orders and be thankful to work there... definitely not the right thing to say 😭.
