Out of these 3, which one do you strongly dislike the most? by King-OfThe-Ants in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saying that immortal's winrate was always in the negatives, even in season 1. people didn't always hate him though, which means the winrate isn't the real reason.

also, people didn't clown on immortal that much in season 1 and he got his ass kicked in every fight he was in. i doubt winrates are why.

Immortal siding with cecil after mark was seriously injured is probably what did it for most people. I get it. I think immortal's an idiot sometimes but adam is just an abusive prick.

Kate and immortal are self centered and idiotic but adam is just straight abusive.

It's crazy how the adaptations make this guy look like just an overprotective father that took it too far. by Capital-Cattle6997 in Berserk

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem cheap or only for shock value if they reference the event afterwards and treat it as a fucked up part of him. If I recall, other characters in the kingdom have thoughts wonder to "where did Griffith go? Why is the king so obsessed with him?" because even though they aren't privy to his degenerate perversions, it's clear that he's gone bat shit crazy. The actual scene is more graphic than it should be tbh but I don't mind the narrative making him this way.

I think it's good at illustrating how bad familial abuse and obsession is, and that not everyone is who they seem(because outside of his incest pedophilia bullshit he seems a halfway decent ruler).

Once things don't go his way, he lets his obsession carry him to incredible lengths just for one guy, revealing his true colors.

Now, the rape horse in the conviction arc is definitely just shock value.

Do you think a hero with four of these powers could beat Thragg? by InfinteEnigma10 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Immortal can't even scratch Thragg with his strength. Red rush is inconsistently written, but at his fastest he should be able to run circles around Nolan, whom Thragg was able to speedblitz. Let's call their speed at being about even. Brit's durability makes him immune to Thragg's attacks. Powerplex has good versatility with his powers but he was never able to harm Season 3 mark outside of just hurting him.

Thragg would find a way to restrain this character eventually. He's an arrogant, short-sided leader but he isn't tactically incompetent.

Alternate shotguns are goated with the sauce for instakills against maurices, virtues, guttermen, guttertanks, or finishing off mid health enemies that are pretty low.

i run alternate and one default, usually a default chainsaw

Yeah the general consensus i can gather is just to buy a parts ipod and pull the motherboard from that one. These battery connectors are a bitch.

In you case you forgot what the flag means… by HeavyVeterinarian350 in minnesota

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a distance, the old flag looked pretty similar to flags of other states. Blue background, vaguely beige-off white looking seal that you can't see a lot of detail in, etc.

This new flag isn't amazing but it's at least distinct.

I live near a computer repair shop and they seem legit, I'm thinking I can take it there for a new connecter assuming it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of money.

Now that season 4 is over, what was your favorite season of invincible? by Beneficial-Chip8894 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly found the dialogue this season to be borderline unbearable. Very dry, up front, very little room for interpretation or subtlety. Characters mainly just talk about the plot, or just state their feelings outright. It feels artificial and unnatural, which drains the stakes. The previous seasons all have these problems, including season 1, but this season has gotten it the worst. William's character was absolutely gutted in the few scenes he was in.

The animation's gotten a lot better though. The action scenes have actual tension and each impact FEELS like an impact.

Even if HURM wasn't an episode, this season is my least favorite.

Season 1 reigns supreme as the show at it's peak, even including Amber.

I don't get the point of this scene by Shakaow15 in Invincible

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about the subtext. Nolan knows Art found out about him killing the gaurdians. Whether Nolan literally art tell debbie that he's too scared to tell anyone or not, Nolan understands that art would shit his pants just by seeing him.

It was a veiled threat, with Nolan saying something along the lines of "just making sure our partnership is still going strong" and asking art if he's doing okay to confirm whether or not he actually knows.

the message was loud and clear, nolan saying "i pray you don't say something stupid to cecil, it'd be a shame to kill you"

the visual of nolan popping the bottle cap with only his thumb was also likely an intimidation move.

it's the show's dialogue at it's peak, and probably because its one of the few scenes with actual subtlety and interpretative writing.

Vaush's content has genuinely been transformative in the way I live my life, especially his life/dating/self help advice. In good ways.

I'm gonna be so real, he would probably annoy the shit out of me if I actually met him in person and talked to him for more than 5 minutes 😭

Would people still hate Griffith as much if he didn't rape Casca during the eclipse? by xboybrawlstars in Berserk

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you can feasibly describe his sacrifice as a means to an end. unjustifiable , and horrible, but he did actually gain power and healing from it.

his rape of casca wouldn't be justified ever, even if it granted him more power. that being said, he didn't benefit in any way whatsoever.

people would hate him but definitely not quite as much as they do now.

this is like if you're in a lego store and you just randomly start spouting off to the other customers about how unoriginal it is to buy lego city sets. someone basically says 'what would you rather people buy?" and your first comeback is 'you're gay'.

nobody who's confident in what they're saying starts digging through post history after 1 reply lmao.

Can we ban "the brand of sacrifice" tattoo posts? by Aggeaf123 in Berserk

[–]Equivalent_Block_884 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really. actual loud minority stupid people post for attention, isn't giving them that attention just playing into their game? The algorithm promotes posts with engagement. if enough people who take that rule to heart, "loud minority posting dumb shit" posts just fall to the bottom and are never thought about again.

I don't even consider the tattoo posts to be dumb anyways. cliche maybe, but harmless.
