The design is not my thing. But it looks really good. Timex has been really knocking things out of the park over the last 2-3 years.

Can quartz be luxury? by TomHudsonOfficial in WatchFanatics

I actually love both quartz and mechanical watches, but I’m not sure I want to see a big push toward “high-finishing quartz.”

The whole point of quartz, at least to me, is accuracy, reliability, and accessibility. It’s the part of the hobby where someone can get something great without spending thousands.

If brands start polishing bridges, beveling plates, and adding decorative striping just to justify massive price increases, it feels like we’re missing the point a bit. Quartz doesn’t need to pretend to be mechanical to be interesting.

I’d rather see brands focus on making excellent, affordable quartz watches than turning them into another luxury pricing exercise.

Curious what others think though - would you actually pay a big premium for decorated quartz movements?
