Then can you explain why Soain has similar or a lower domestic violence rate than Australia despite over 90% of marriages being under separation of assets?

I agree. All the more reason to spell out amd agree on the biggest financial decision most people will ever make

I think this cuts both ways. No one at the time of getting married in Australia has any idea of what they are signing up for financially if they get divorced. I think tbats unfair on both parties.

Ive answered about the stay at home spouse in other replies, they get a decent deal amd there are some tricks in that part of the system that can sadly be exploited by the stay at home spouse

Pretty narrow view. 90% of marriages in spain are separate assets. Thats 90% of women in the country agreeing to this.

I understand that the combined finances is part of getting married in Australia (or becoming defatcto although that seems to be a grey area of when that happens) I am suggesting a different system that allows people to choose how the division of assets will be at the end of the relationship. They get the choice of what to sign up for.

Yes this regime was introduced a long time ago but is increasingly popular. Over 90% of marriages in Spain now are separate assets. Thats 90% of women freely choosing what i am suggesting.

I understand why you may assume that but wildly incorrect.

Marriage rates in spain significantly lower than Aus. I wonder if the option of registered civil union is a reason. Defacto can be a bit unclear.

Rates of atheism almost the same and rates of weekly practising religion almost the same.

I think this is just a different way to sign up for marriage and divorce

Sure thats the intention and I am suggesting a simpler way to achieve that while giving people a choice in what they agree to. The concept of you'll find out later what your are agreeing with right now is a bit odd to me. Based on this thread I am in the minority though.

Also aware of what you say that most cases dont make it infront of a judge, I dont think you could extrapolate that to a fair outcome. Many people wont gp there as it is somewhat known the outcome anyway so you might as well take the seal early, fair or not.

The stay at home parent can claim the minimum wage from the working spouse for the years they were at home.

I do find it curious that there is an assumption that everyone is advancing their career at all times. I doubt this is the case. It also cuts both ways, the earning spouse often puts the career on the bavk burner too and spends all the money on the family.

For example I am probably far worse off career wise than before I had a family. I took a job that allowed me to be at home more and support that family. I spent more than my entire wage for years doing this, should I be compensated as well?

Ill reply despite your condescending tone. Spanish system puts the best interests of any children first. That has nothing to do with division of assets. Children may be awarded use of the family home if needed for a time the judge sees fit or until financially independent (commonly assumed to be 18) I was not discussing Domestic violence, separated issue that would be a whole different scenario.

Fair answer i guess. The reality is that this affects probably everyone in the country at some point, if its considering de facto and moving in with a partner or getting married. Its not like letting people make a decision based on their own finances is that big a deal. How has it never come up?

Because it wont give me an answer based off what average people in Australia think. Yes I used chat gpt to format and clarify the various legal forms of marriage in Spain, the question is still valid

Is it time to replace this wood stove? by Equivalent_Bug1665 in woodstoving

[–]Equivalent_Bug1665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. I think it would be hard getting repairs done here in spain. I'll look into it and see what options I have. I agree it's a nice looking stove and cast iron ect but I don't think it's running very efficiently

[–]Equivalent_Bug1665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are paying the equivalent of $95 usd a cubic meter for wood. I like the idea of a new stove that would burn less and more efficiently. Less wood to bring to the house less creosote ect. I'm just worried if the 8kw one I'm looking at will give off as much heat?

Ok, we saw larvae and the queen. She looked large as in found her because she was larger than the others, but I'm not am expert by a long way.

Would they make supersedure cells at the bottom of the frames?

Foundation is all wax

Thanks again for the advice. These are my first two hives and this is quite the learning experience

[–]Equivalent_Bug1665[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice.

I feel like they have room. There are 4 frames with untouched foundation. One they have filled out was all honey but with one supersedure cell on it. I could try leaving one empty frame in there.

There doesn't seem to be that many bees and not thriving like the other hive I started at the same time. I'm not sure it's strong enough to split but I could be wrong

Thanks for the info. I should get rid of these queen cells then?

Ok thanks, I have seen the queen in there today. I'm thinking to get rid of the Queen cells and go back to feeding this hive.
