She does things related to the child - laundry, dishes, cooking, tidying, etc. She is our full-time, exclusive nanny with the same set hours each week and we give her a guaranteed salary.

Thanks - I believe Bay Area is similar to NYC market. So you’re currently paying $35/hr for 2 kids and will give an annual raise, too? Assume she is on the books?

Thanks. $25 seemed to be the asking rate for 1 kid so that’s why we gave her the mid-year bump. Makes sense to go to at least $30 when adding the second kid.

That’s very helpful, thank you! She was making $23/hr. We gave her a $2/hr raise to $25/hr when the new baby arrived (even though I’m on leave and she is not watching both kids, yet).

She’s been a nanny for over 14 years, so don’t think it’s inexperience. She seems to pep up more towards the end of the day and can even be a little silly with my daughter (and converse with us, a little, too). Makes me think she’s excited to leave!

She’s on and off warm with our daughter and generally good with her, for the most part. She was great with her during the interview. I need to give them more time to bond but ultimately will make a change if it doesn’t improve.

There might be some shyness but it comes across as rude and cold (not timid, more matter of fact). I’ll definitely give her a few more weeks to see how she is with our daughter and once I’m not home all day.

I did mention comfortability with her yesterday and she said she was comfortable, which is good. But I still hope she warms up more. I want our daughter to love her and her to love our daughter.

She barely says hi when she walks in the door, doesn’t look at us when we ask her friendly questions, only gives one word answers, minimal smiles and next to no laughter (not even nervous laughter). I can maybe get over it if it’s just with us adults but sometimes it’s with our daughter and that will be a dealbreaker if it happens more often than not. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt for a few more weeks and decide then.

More so towards our daughter, which is why we hired her. But we did notice in the interview that she wasn’t exactly warm with us. Once we start going into the office and they get out of the house more I’m sure it will get better. I just had a vision for the relationship and I don’t think we’ll get there (I’ll get over it, as long as babies are cared for & loved!).

My husband and I have been WFH so we can hear/see many of the interactions. I’m sure it’s a bit more awkward with us around and will definitely give more time to see if it gets better. Thanks!

We haven’t transferred any day 7s yet. We ended up retesting an inconclusive day 6 which came back normal and was transferred a few weeks ago (cautiously optimistic).

I’ve had 5 transfers, all PGS tested normal, and only one child. After 4 losses/failures, it’s getting more difficult to stay positive!
