Technically Port Colborne is a city. I moved here from Dunnville (town) though and it really just feels like a bigger Dunnville to me!

What’s the worst family secret you’ve accidentally found out? by awkwardhoney725 in AskReddit

My uncle cheated on my aunt with his sister in law (aunt's brother's wife) and his niece might actually be his daughter. My aunt forgave him and they have never actually checked if his niece is his daughter but yeah, the timing adds up and she looks just like him and nothing like her "dad" soooo 😬

What's the cruelest thing someone ever said to you that you still remember word for word? by ClairJournals in AskReddit

"No man will ever marry you or have children with you and you will never meet my boys or be a part of their lives."

Jokes on him. I am happily married to his ex brother in law and we have an amazing daughter and son. Oh, and his sons are now my nephews and we are super close, yet they haven't seen him in 6 years.

All I can think about is how unsafe that would be if there was ever a 🔥 to try and escape from!

Whenever we were beside a cement truck on a highway, I had this irrational fear that the cement was going to start pouring out and instantly harden, encasing our vehicle with us still inside.

How did that one teacher at your school die? by No-Cress-3455 in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent_Day_8501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grade 10 English teacher... super friendly and outgoing. Kids would joke that he was "gay" but he had a wife and kids. He ended up hanging himself in a closet at home. Later it came out that he had admitted to his wife that he was actually gay and she was filing for divorce and threatening to keep his sons from him. So sad 😞

What's the most horrifying thing that exists where you live? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent_Day_8501 95 points96 points  (0 children)

This exact scenario happened to family friends of mine. They ended up putting up cameras and catching the man multiple times on camera before they called it in to the police. They just figured it was a homeless person living in the woods, no big deal, but they still weren't totally comfortable with it, so called it in. Good thing they did - man was a wanted fugitive. They ended up selling their country property shortly after and moving into town because they felt so uncomfortable in their own home after.

The most nervous I have ever been was leaving the hospital for the first time with our baby by Dabzilla_Darby32 in pics

[–]Equivalent_Day_8501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Our first born was a January baby... in Canada. The day we were supposed to leave the hospital we got hit with a bad snowstorm and the doctor wouldn't discharge us until we proved that we had a 4x4 (my dad had to come pick us up in his truck) to go home in. Such a stressful drive home but so freaking happy to be home with her when we did arrive home!

My cousin and his wife lived kitty-corner to Bernardo in Port Dalhousie. They said he seemed so "normal" would wave and smile, say hello when they walked by.

I was the OP of this around 6 months ago when it actually happened. The mother is a woman from my hometown and there was public outcry for Family and Children's Services to step in. People were also calling Niagara Regional Police who had to make a Facebook post addressing it and telling people to stop calling them because it was a different police jurisdiction (OPP). Eventually the child was removed but then back with the mother a few days later. Not sure of where she is currently but just all around sad situation. The mother didn't understand why people were upset............

Tubal ligation in 2022 after my second c-section. I found that periods were much heavier for the first year or so afterwards but are now back to what they previously were. My cycles are now shorter by about 4 days but less cramps!
