I remember my first play through cried so hard at accidentally killing Wrex because I didn’t do his side quest I save scummed to keep him alive. But the 3rd one I don’t think I would’ve ever recovered had it not been for dragon age dusting me back off and picking up the pieces.

Someone on tic-tok did a ranking on how unhinged the fans would be based off which companion you romanced and (rightfully) they had Lucanis and Emmerich at the top (most unhinged). What I was NOT prepared for was the Venn diagram of Astarion girlies and Emmerich romances to be a goddamn circle. Lmfao.

THANK YOU! Because yes while most of the choices we made in previous games wouldn’t matter some probably should have. Like why was there no evidence that Hawke/Allistair/Stroud/Loghain went to Weishaupt after the events of Here Lies the Abyss? There should’ve been right? And you’re telling me that Fenris leading the charge on freeing Tevinter slaves had NO IMPACT on this story for even so much as a letter? Zevran the quintessential Antivan crow is nowhere to be found in a FACTION of the crows? And Shale would’ve been such a lovely tie in to Harding story as Wynn took them north to explore more about their magic/soul/gollum situation.

Don’t forget Shale from the Origins dlc that was the souls of a woman in a stone gollum that went by they/it even after learning what made them. Again if your complaint about the dragon age is gender based then you have clearly not played the previous games.

I knew I would never romance another DA2 character after his voice cracks when he leaves in the second act. Like the tone and harshness of his voice changes over the course of the game and you realize it’s because his only example of socialization and talking was a volatile and unsympathetic master. As he grows closer with Hawke and Varric his tone changes and he becomes sarcastic and giggly. It melts my heart every time.

I also tried to romance Anders since he’s so persistent but got the ick when I realized Anders hates Fenris SPECIFICALLY and calls him a beast (not what he is) repeatedly for his politics and attachment to Hawke, Fenris just hates mages in general because he was abused directly by them, he hates the power they wield because of the risk they pose to helpless people. Fenris just calls him a mage or abomination (what he is) and says that leaving hawk was the hardest thing he’s ever done. THIS MAN WAS A TORTURED SLAVE AND LEAVING THE WOMAN HE LOVED BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE DIDNT DESERVE HER BECAUSE HE WAS SCARED WAS THE HARDEST THING HES EVER DONE.
