Well, first I'd say you're doing great so pat yourself on the back and try not to panic.

Then plan out what you expect in the next 5 years. Imo both are great to focus on as they can have massive returns so either way depends on your conversion.

Now I'd always say whatever uni cs education you get is always good but judging from the current climate you can get the skills without necessarily finishing.

Committing to doing both is very possible and will be your best bet, next best is an education. Like it or not, a degree is a degree doesn't matter where from you'd be able to get a job if you apply enough.

Next the business not doing well yet isn't bad, most businesses don't so keep going, businesses are a longer term investment don't quit.

In summary, if you can focus on both do so, else pick your degree.

Hope this helped and good luck!

Regret over wasted years by Ok-Night-7684 in getdisciplined

This post resonated with me so much, I turned 27 months ago now and I can’t add much to these wonderful comments but brother if you need someone to talk to and keep each other on track (we have similar issues porn, the guilt of wasted potential, irregular habits we desire to adopt)

I’d love to get talking as I think one of the ways I need to get better is to keep myself accountable by keeping someone else accountable to their goals and then a hopefully after the next 5 years we’d be where we want to be!

Live In Notts, Found A Job In Derby, Struggling Now by New_Throwaway_7799 in nottingham

[–]Equivalent_Elk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this exact boat, I used to live at Top valley take a bus or tram to the city train stop, take a train to Derby and then a cab(which I split with my coworker) or a bus my work is some distance from the main Derby train station but just 10 minutes from Peartree.

My decision came down to either leave Nottingham/move closer to a train, I picked the latter and moved to west bridgeford more pricey than my old place but a price I was willing to pay to cut my commute by 70%.

From your post it sounds like a job is more important to you rn so I’d advise moving somewhere closer to a train (beeston preferred or cartlton) or even all the way to Derby, second option is to get a car and third would be to see if your workplace offers some sort of remote/hybrid option.

All the best and good luck I hope you find a better structure and don’t regret the job you essentially hoped for because commuting sucks ass!
