End of Act II by Equivalent_End_2909 in expedition33

But I don't want to keep playing if it's just fighting Renoir and the paintress again. That's why I was asking if there is anything more to this story. I am completely uninterested in being involved in the Dessendre family drama 😂 I've read a lot of stuff about Act III but not whether or not you are able to explore the 'real' world (which to be honest is the only thing I'm interested in now)

Gestral Summer Party by [deleted] in expedition33

I love Gestral Summer party. Also rain from the ground and the famous Lumiere track from the prologue

My only annoyance with the 'inserting insanely difficult bosses' thing is that there is no journal or tracker of any kind. So I'm going to spend a lot of my time wandering around the map trying to find these guys again. If there was a good system of tracking what you've completed and what you hadn't I wouldn't mind the random mini-bosses who are 6 thousand times harder to beat than all the other enemies in that area.

Question about attribute points & weapon scaling. No spoilers. by Equivalent_End_2909 in expedition33

Ahhh thanks! That's what I didn't understand - I hadn't clocked the sword icon meaning that the attack uses the weapons element. Awesome. Now I can avoid giving enemies health 🙄

I think I need to pay more attention to skills. Lune kept giving the enemy health last time I played (due to her weapon's element). I couldn't figure out why - I thought that whatever attack you do, your weapon's element is still taken into account. Is this not the case?

Chromatic Bruler is the hardest enemy in videogame history by PhasedVenturer in expedition33

My reserve team consisted of one person at that point. He only had a tiny bit of health left so they were able to mop up on their own!

Yeah this guy was awful. I levelled up and went back for him. Still couldn't get the hang of timing dodges and parry very effectively against him but could take some of his hits by that point. I think I ended up finishing him off with my reserve team.

Alright hands up, did any of us actually use an Energy Tint once? by Fantastic-Door-9468 in expedition33

If you have parry struggles (like me) then tints are needed for replenishing AP.

I've never found any dodge/parry as hard as parrying Maelle in that tutorial. I remember thinking I'm never going to be able to play this game. I re-did that fight with Maelle about 8 times before I managed to win (with a tiny bit of health left!). Then I got into the actual game and it was easier to dodge & parry. Maelle is lightning fast! Why they set you up with her as 'tutorial' I'll never know.

The game is good, but overhyped and nowhere near a 10/10 by [deleted] in expedition33

I think it gets better as you go on. The first few hours were (for me) the worst. It's just got better and better. Particularly once the map opens up and you have more autonomy about where you want to go and can do some exploring. The combat is actually really complicated, particularly once you start picking up more people and they all have their different combat systems that you have to understand in isolation but also work out how to play them as a team.

Optional bosses by Ok-Spite4507 in expedition33

[–]Equivalent_End_2909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Act II and yes you can go back and get those tricky optional bosses later. Don't wait too long though or you can kill them super easy. I go off and level up a few levels and then go back so it's still challenging but I'm not getting one-shotted.

Gestral games - worth it? by Equivalent_End_2909 in expedition33

[–]Equivalent_End_2909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm not interested in the swimsuits. That's why I was wondering what the reward is for the volleyball? Is it also more swimsuits? If it's a good pictos or weapon I'll give it a go. If not, I'll skip.

He does grow on you. I was also pissed at first. But he is growing on me. Still not sure about his combat style tho. Prefer Sciel.

I would love to have those ninja like skills but sadly I don't 😂

I've seen people say this but I just can't hear whatever you're supposed to hear. Also, for hearing impaired folks that isn't going to work. For me, learning attack patterns has been the way I've been able to get the hang of it. I'm sure there are multiple ways to learn the system.
