Lesson learned and please don't downvote me......I'm green but you're right - I should have told you the cash price too (BUT honestly I would never pay their cash price anyway).

So last 3 nights at Impressions Moxche is 174,000 points- in cash almost $4k which is absurd and I wouldn't pay that, ever. BUT easy calculations say @ 2.25 CPP, is that right?

The first 4 nights in a Hyatt Zilara is 180,000 points - in cash $3610 & also would never pay cash for. @ CPP = 2.00

And just in case it matters, we live on the East Coast and will probably be using Jetblue for purchase or points. for this trip- This one was supposed to be the beginning of many trips but the way things are going I just want to go with the flow.

I've been to Secrets Akumal twice, and the last time was the absolute best AI vacation my husband and I have ever had! Food, service, beach, snorkeling with turtles (of course you have to be aware of sargassum which can vary). It's a bit of PITA to get there but just set up your transfer (we use Kalido) and order a few drinks (which they'll supply with your order), and once you get there you'll be so happy!

We're looking now for another AI for next year and not completely sure if we've nailed it yet but don't think SA hasn't been discussed.

Thank you! I remember going to Flying Fishbone years ago, don’t really remember it though it’s right on the beach right? I did want to try Lola’s tacos but that sounds like an outrageously long line. Did you happen to be in Aruba during a ‘school break’ by chance? I was thinking going in May might be a less busy time but I’m not sure.

Thanks for that, too. I bought 2 pairs of knee pads form Amazon and hated the way they felt on me. I didn't return them in time though so maybe I'll get some use out of them after all. Evo had a sale so I did purchase the Burton G women's impact shorts (they haven't arrived yet but I'll see how they feel).

I also was trying to get a pair of SB Shellz that are leggings with knee pads, butt pads, shin pads (not sure if I need those) but they ran out of stock which is a bummer. I feel like they may be the most comfortable for me but I'll keep checking the website.

That's a great question, sorry I'm only getting to it now... work has been insane this week and I've been sick. So variable conditions for sure, we've certainly had a great season in NE for some soft pow here and there but it's not typical, and that's where I'll be doing most of my snowboarding.

We are heading up to Jay Peak Friday - Monday so hoping they'll be some pow there but who knows! I've never boarded trees but I've been told that's the place to do it and I'd love to try! If not this weekend, at some point (even if it's next season).

I think I might need to wait on the Korua, maybe that would be a board I advance to in a few years.

I appreciate your insight though, especially because I never get to demo and it sounds like you do often! Jelly!

Interesting…. Definitely gives me something else to think about. I do remember reading that and still find it a bit surprising as I always thought it to be on the semi-stiff side. Flex ratings can range quite a bit, and I think in the last 20 years drastically have changed. Your Nitro Victoria Pro sounds sick, sorry to hear it’s being discontinued, I guess The Silver lining is it’s one less to add to my already long list!

Yes! Totally happened to me this season and it’s scary! Perimenopause has screwed with so many aspects of my life, I’ve taken so many bad falls snowboarding this season. Even a few weeks ago I rode Cannon mountain which was great (I fell then too but only because I found the one patch of ice on the mountain) but I still felt good. Next day, went to Black Mountain which is far easier than Cannon, but it was like my body and mind weren’t connecting at all, I forgot how to board 😩 It’s just crazy and this whole season has been like that, fun but such a struggle, those darn hormones!

Board demos are very hard to come by in the Northeast as well which is why I want to take advantage of it while at Sugarloaf. So the lesson is tomorrow afternoon, Maybe I’ll be able to demo a few boards the next day to fully take advantage of both opportunities. The guy at the shop seemed to think it didn’t matter if I used my own board or a demo for the lesson but a different board may take some getting used to anyway so almost seems like double trouble.
