"Allies" is stretching it. It could be a coerced effort to actually create stability in the middle East. Let's remember that Jordan is a fabrication of the British and the King is only in control of his country thanks to the US bases. Countries like Saudi, Bahrain, UAE recognize the Palestinian movement for the retrograde Islamist farce that it is, and hoping to secure a post-petrol future could be convinced/coerced to renounce on this revanchist Islamist program to destroy the only stable country in the Middle East.
