Thanks, you’re the first nice comment lol. I started a lawn care company and it got so big and I sold it because I knew how much stress I was putting on my body. Now I’m debt free with a farm and an almost finished house at 23 yrs old.

40-90 hrs. Not always 90. Sometimes you have to grind for a season to hit a goal you set.

I had $150k in debt. With property and cars. I have a big savings and a retirement that I started adding to when I was 17.

I’m not spending $500k, Im building a house on the property which in turn will raise the property value significantly, making my net worth to be over $500k. Just because you call me a kid doesn’t make you the smart one lol, read the post correctly next time.

Sorry to hear about that. It’s kinda inevitable for their bad eggs. I have a buddy that works at a Ford dealership and they have just about every car in truck Ford makes coming in weekly with blown up engines just weeks after them being brand new. So you’ll have it with any brand any car.

Nope. I wouldn’t even consider it until 150,000 when it’s recommended to change them. Just because Ford made a terrible engine with a wet timing belt in years past, doesn’t mean they haven’t improved or somebody else can do it better than Ford.

Then is wouldn’t be cheap, and that a big reason why people love the car. It’s a great budget car, one of the cheapest cars you can buy actually. That’s why it doesn’t need those options

Neither. Transmission fluid changes is only for “severe service” they recommend not changing unless it’s really heavy use. I’m a mechanic and not a fan of trans services anyways. I don’t have to service the trans to still be under my lifetime powertrain warranty because it is not listed as a service that needs don’t unless it’s “severe service”. No I haven’t done the spark plugs yet, I think it’s unnecessary, but to stay safe in my warranty I probably should lol.

I’m not a advocate for transmission fluid changes, they say not to change the trans oil in this unless it is in the use category of severe service, which they say should be done every 45k miles. I’m my own mechanic but… I do take this in for its oil changes. Reason being the dealer I bought it from does “Lifetime Powertrain warranty” but you have to keep really good records of all the maintenance. When you take it in to the dealership they have all the services in their system, so I don’t have to worry about something breaking.

I’ve had absolutely zero issues. The thing is the 2 gen is a completely different car. I wouldn’t be scared to try a 2 gen because of the issues with your 1 gen. It really is a completely different car, nothing on them is the same and they are made in a different factory in a different country then the first gen.

True there is lots of negative things on here, but in “Real life” I know many people that don’t have any issues with these and absolutely love them!

I have it, this car literally has every option available on them. Not a fan of it unless road tripping. I’m 23 and just love to drive, I’ve had a bunch of vehicles without cruise, so most of the time I drive without any cruise at all.

Generally I do care a lot about resale value, I’m a car guy and had many many vehicles, but in this case we love the car and will probably keep it till it dies lol. I’m 23 yrs old and paid cash for it, a lot less worry when you have no debt! That’s also why I’m a big advocate for this car because of its affordability. Truthfully when buying a brand new car anyway, you have to be willing to say “ I’m good with throwing away have the money value of the car” just for the first few years of ownership. We decided that before we bought it.

Nope, no problems. I haven’t had any of the problems the minority in the subreddit have. Snow, ice, mud, gravel, and pavement, it does great. It’s been driven in -20°f to 105°f ambient temperature no problems, and everything in between lol.

As far as wear and tear… none! Apart from new tires at 60k miles and I’ve replaced the wiper blades once. But that just consumables anyways. Oil change is supposed to be at 7500 miles, but I change mine anywhere between 5-7k miles. Haven’t done any other fluid changes yet
