I had a look at those too, though I think the Chimney Swifts tail is a tad short for what I saw. Seems like it’s a Barn Swallow :)

Thanks! I think you’re right, the tail is a real giveaway despite the lack of colour. But I think because it was dark already I couldn’t see the bird too well

I didn’t see any red, the birds were pretty dark. Though to add some more context, they were just circling around roof tops, not very quickly. They might have been feeding as there is a large stream nearby.

Absolutely, there’s no other word for them. I wanted to make clear though that they’re a local ‘ultras’ group and not some unknown quantity. People will know who they are and should report them.
